  1. I don't know the official answer except I've been sleeping on my belly since the 3rd night, careful not to slide around at all. It's been great and got all of my lingering gas out. Haha I would say follow your body/pain. I don't have any and haven't been on meds since DOS.
  2. You will do great! I haven't had any issues with being dizzy aside from once this weekend when I ran up my steps too fast. My poor belly is all bruised, lol. I have to give myself Lovenox injections because I had a pulmonary embolism 4 years ago after the birth of my youngest daughter. So I'm on those for 4 weeks post surgery. So keep walking! It's good to keep moving. wouldn't wish that on anyone!!!
  3. I'm on full liquids and it's been fine! I'm just learning this. I'm sure there is an easier way with the app, but I signed up on my computer with Facebook and can't figure out how to login to the app since it doesn't give me a FB option. So I just use the browser on my iPhone. If you click the post, it will say "Quote". That's how I did it. If I get time today, I might get on my computer and figure it all out better. I have 3 small girls, so we shall see if I do get time. LOL!
  4. We are surgery date buddies!!
  5. Thanks for the suggestion. I have full confidence in my surgeon. He's nationally recognized and the director of the program here in Pittsburgh, so I am sure he knows what he is doing. I think all surgeons are just different. He has never had a staple line leak nor death, so I'm going to roll with it. But I'm not cleared for all foods. I can have clear liquids, protein shakes, strained (watery) cream soups.
  6. I have no idea... Just the Campbell's cream of tomato and cream of mushroom made with skim milk. I've only had 1 serving a day though. Out of curiosity are the soups you are eating carb heavy? Carbs are a concern of mine because I'm a vegetarian HW 341 SW 298 DOSW 286 CW 271 DOS 08/09/16
  7. Mine hasn't changed as much as yours. I was 301.7 on 8/9 DOS and have been at 294.3 for the last 3 days lol I guess my body is angry. Are you on only clears? I can have protein shakes and strained cream soups, too. And AF started today so that could be another issue, lol!
  8. I was also VERY nauseated in the hospital. I was good after I got home. My phase 1 diet includes protein shakes, skim milk and strained cream soups as well. As far as sleeping, I'm a stomach sleeper and I've been able to sleep fine on my stomach. The day I got home from The hospital, I lowered myself onto my stomach on a soft couch and I swear it helped me with the gas, lol. I'm just careful that my stomach is fully off the bed before lowering myself so I don't drag any of the incisions across the bed... And I make sure I have a snug fitting tank top on. It's been fine for me. I also haven't taken pain meds since 2 hours post op so my tolerance is high. Anyway, my point is maybe you could try side-sleeping? I did that night 2 in the hospital.
  9. I was sleeved 8/9. Apparently, anesthesia is not my friend LOL I was soooo nauseated. Pain meds do that to me as well, so I didn't take any pain meds at all from about 2 hours post surgery on. Mainly, nausea was my foe. It's better now, though. It's crazy how different surgeons have different diet rules. I'm on full liquids and my follow-up appointment is Thursday. Next stage for me is soft/puree... But it says I can have ground beef in meatloaf, chili or meatball form... But other things I've seen elsewhere say no ground beef. Who knows!!!
  10. I know that's a bit dramatic. I was sleeved 8/9 and had major effects of anesthesia (crazy nausea, violent dry-heaving up foamy stuff). It only subsided last night and I was able to come home today. I did have IV fluids from midnight until 8am, but I've probably only had 15oz since and it's 5pm. I'm assuming I won't hit the 64oz target today, but I'm so afraid to overdo drinking an be nauseated. My surgeon told me to sip from a 90cc medicine cup over a half an hour... well even if I did that for 24 hours straight, it would still only be what - like 48oz? lol I guess I just need reassurance this is ok for this soon post-op. I'm so afraid to vomit after what I went through initially post-op. I even refused all pain meds from right after surgery on hoping it would help. Also, crazy burping - is that normal? My surgeon said it means I'm going too fast and things aren't moving along as they should - but I don't know if I can go any slower... Thank so much for advice!!!
