  1. I was just thinking about this and I'm going to try it starting today. I've been hovering around 50 carbs, I'm going to try to stay at 30. Thanks!
  2. @Inner Surfer Thanks for the help. I have actually been trying to keep calories way down by using low cal stuff b/c I see so many others on here who are losing tons and barely getting in any calories. I will try to boost them up.
  3. If you are only eating 500-700 calories then you probably aren't eating enough. I HIGHLY recommend that you just stay off the scale until you can reliably get in all of your Protein and fluids and can up your calories. You are still healing from major surgery. Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall Interesting. Just out of curiosity, how many calories are you eating daily?
  4. I know I know, stalls happen, embrace it, etc. I think that sometimes people on here who have been sleeved for a while and lost a lot forget how FRUSTRATING it can be. It's so hard at the beginning and to stall in the first few weeks is really annoying. I have been completely on plan and haven't lost a POUND in 10 days (I'm 17 days out). My weight is exactly the same. im sticking to my diet 100%. i just dont understand how i can be eating 500-700 calories a day and NOT losing weight. when I used to diet I'd eat 1200/day and lose tons the first few weeks, even without exercise. I feel like this was a waste of 14K and I'm failing and it's just not going to work for me. I know this is probably over dramatic but it's so hard to stick to this diet and get used to all these new rules and then have NO reward. I just wanted to commiserate and find some support here. Needed to vent!
  5. They warned me about the nasty taste in my mouth from ketosis and I definitely had it at first. It's gone away since I've started pureed foods.
  6. I would call your dr. Could be a stricture.
  7. I second the ricotta bake. I've also been enjoying deviled egg salad and pinto Beans bake with salsa and cheddar. Here's a good resource: https://www.pinterest.com/explore/pureed-food-recipes/ I made the broccoli cauliflower cheddar Soup tonight and blended it and it was awesome.
  8. Hmm, I'd ask your doctor. That does seem like a lot. Tonight I tried to get 4 oz for dinner instead of 2 and I made it to about 3 and now have food coming up my throat if I try to lay down.
  9. What type of chicken is it? I second the unsweetened almond milk idea. Ive been using it for everything and it's only 30 calories a cup.
  10. This is the BEST unflavored Protein powder I have found. I can mix it in with just about anything. https://www.amazon.com/Clean-Label-Protein-Unflavored-Servings/dp/B019YWFHAW It's 22 grams a scoop but I usually add 1/2 a scoop. Muscle Milk is the only Protein Drink I've been able to tolerate. I'm 17 days out and my recommendation is 60 G.
  11. 64 oz is pretty unrealistic on day 2. i was able to get about 30. By day 4 i was having no trouble and i can now actually gulp Water pretty well (day 17) but i understand that's not common. just do your best. honestly those first few days they told me water was more important than Protein.
  12. So, I'm really enjoying my soft food stage but I'm having an issue with knowing how much to eat. The soft foods are good and bad because they go down so easily that I can eat more than I thought I'd be able to (about 2oz) but it's hard to know exactly when to stop. I kept feeling hungry all day today and ate more than I probably needed to. About 45 minutes ago I felt very hungry again and took 1 oz of ricotta. After about 1/2 of it I started hiccuping and then got a nasty mouth full of spit. I'm just not sure how to figure out what the sensations in my stomach mean. Any advice? Thanks
  13. I usually get 500 to 650. I'm lucky in that I haven't had much trouble getting food or water down. I'm a little over 2 weeks out.
  14. I had staples as well. My incisions were glued and then had staples over them anyway. Getting them out is awesome!
  15. I was also allowed yogurt as long as it was blended (like no fruit on the bottom or chunks).
  16. Well as I put in an earlier post it's 119 calories/serving. Too bad to hear that you're not allowed more than that in a day. @@magicianbeautician74 Sorry, I misunderstood your post. Seriously.. some people only come around to harass others.
  17. Where did you find cauliflower pizza?
  18. Thanks everyone! Luckily today is my last day doing them. I've had enough bruises for now
  19. You will be eating it soon enough!
  20. Did anyone else have to do blood thinner injections? I am getting some NASTY bruises. This one is about the size of an egg.
  21. Also if you have a good Protein powder that has no flavor, my favorite is DEFINITELY this one https://www.amazon.com/Clean-Label-Protein-Unflavored-Servings/dp/B019YWFHAW you can blend it into the Soups or even applesauce and puddings and then you don't have to do as many Protein shakes. I was blending like 1/4 scoop into a pudding cup or applesauce which is 5g of protein.
  22. Full liquids are tough to get creative with, but I had a few good things. I got potato, bacon and cheddar low fat cream Soup and blended it until it was smooth and that was probably one of the best things I ate. I also got some Cinnabon flavored cream of wheat and made it with unsweetened almond milk. Cinnamon applesauce, sugar free pudding cups, greek yogurt, cream of chicken soup. It's not easy but it was a DEFINITE step up from clears.
  23. I plugged everything into my fitness pal, this is the nutrition for 1/8 of the total yield (so you can see how I cut mine into 8ths. My husband accidentally bought whole milk ricotta so you could def get the fat down. Ill use skim next time. Nutrition Facts Servings 8.0 Amount Per Serving calories 119 % Daily Value * Total Fat 8 g 13 % Saturated Fat 5 g 23 % Monounsaturated Fat 2 g Polyunsaturated Fat 0 g Trans Fat 0 g Cholesterol 48 mg 16 % Sodium 235 mg 10 % Potassium 49 mg 1 % Total Carbohydrate 3 g 1 % Dietary Fiber 0 g 2 % Sugars 1 g Protein 9 g 17 % Vitamin A 6 % Vitamin C 1 % Calcium 24 % Iron 2 % I will be 2 weeks out tomorrow. Technically I was supposed to start puree then but I couldn't wait past dinner tonight, lol. What's 12 hours really?
  24. First puree meal and it's AWESOME. I feel like a human being again. For anyone who hasn't seen this recipe: Shelly's Ricotta Bake 8 oz of Ricotta Cheese 1/2 cup grated Parmesan 1 large Egg, beaten 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning salt & pepper to taste 1/2 cup Marinara Sauce 1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese Mix ricotta cheese, parmesan, beaten egg, seasonings together and place in a oven proof dish. Pour marinara on top and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake it in the oven @ 450 for about 20-25 minutes (best) or nuke it till hot and bubbly. I usually made it first in the oven and heated the leftovers in the microwave. Eating it very slow and only having 1/8 of the pan (it's a tiny pan, about 1/4 of a normal glass baking pan) for now, hopefully it goes okay! For those on liquid, soon you will feel much better, just a few bites and my spirits are way up!
