Wrong decision?
The first day is really rough. The worst will be over soon. I know it feels like forever right now but in a few weeks it will just be a blip. Just stay on top of all your meds and try to rest.

Wrong decision?
It took me until about 11 days out to stop wishing I hadn't done it. Surgery is rough. Each day will slowly get better.

Puréed stage recipes.
https://www.pinterest.com/explore/pureed-food-recipes/ That is where I've gotten almost all my recipes. Deviled egg salad, refried bean bake, ricotta bake, and cauliflower broccoli cheddar Soup are some of my favorites.

Catheter question?
I didn't have one either. Like a PP they told me after surgery that if I didn't pee soon they'd put one in. Then I sat on the toilet for a couple hours falling asleep and waking up until I went, lol.

Did anyone cheat on preop
Thanks! I think everyone's surgeon is different. Some people don't even have a pre op diet. My BMI was lower (38 or so) and maybe that's why he was more relaxed about it. I'm 3 weeks out today and doing fine!

Did anyone cheat on preop
i had a can of tuna for 2 nights on my pre op. frankly my surgeon didn't seem too worried about being 100% on plan. i told him i was nervous about it and he was like, eh.. try your best.

VSG Post Op Day 5
Yes I agree. I am supposed to be on clear & full liquids until 11/7... & I was finally feeling good so I decided that I would be brave & kick it up a notch & try the oatmeal. & it def did not agree with me. at. all.I had to hit rewind... & realized I am def going to take it a lot slower than I thought. But I am OK with that lol thanks for the input I tried to talk my NUT into pushing me up to puree a week early b/c i was so sick of liquid and was tolerating everything. she said that it's not about how well you're tolerating food but giving your stomach time to heal. i grudgingly waited another week, lol.

Will I be broken forever?
I had a pretty smooth recovery but it was still about 10 days before I stopped regretting the surgery. I still have my moments too but I'm only 3 weeks out so I assume they'll get fewer and farther between. Once you can start eating some more food you might find it easier. The liquid stage was really hard for me, I was so sick of the shakes and Soups. I felt much better when I moved to purees. I'm still struggling to get enough calories and Proteins some days but it really does get easier as time passes. Promise! Also if you're still vomiting you should call your surgeon and let them know, get some anti nausea meds.

Too much Constipation
Are you in any pain from it? I used to only go about twice a week. My doc told me that as long as it's not causing any discomfort not to worry. Some people are just like that. Weirdly I've been much more regular since the surgery

Post Op Clear Liquid Phase Ideas
Thank you! Going to try this Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App It mixes really well and unflavored, just don't put it in boiling or VERY hot Water or it will clump.

When you're sick to your stomach should you push yourself to eat?
My stomach started getting upset last night and it's still going on today. I don't know if I ate something that didn't agree with me or what but I've also been having diarrhea. Normally when my stomach is sick I back off eating. How do you handle it when you're sick with a stomach bug or something non sleeve related?

Getting second thoughts
I'm not condemning you, I'm just saying that if you read these boards and see most of the stories, serious problems are unusual. Most people get through recovery and even if they have a few setbacks end up doing just fine. I'm sorry you're having a hard time right now and I'm sure you're feeling regret while you're in pain and having trouble eating, but that will certainly pass at some point. I just don't want others who could have a life changing (and maybe life saving) surgery to be scared out of it by stories from people who are currently having a hard time. I hope you feel better soon.

Surgery Monday 10/24 Feeling Hungry
It should be, but some people have to try a few kinds and doses before they find the right one. I was on the PPI at the time and had to take more to control it.

Getting second thoughts
Also, @@grasseschic from your previous posts it looks like you did fine for the first 4 weeks and then had a setback when you got a stomach virus.

Getting second thoughts
This was your experience. It was definitely not the hardest thing I've ever done and I don't think most people have as much trouble as you have so it might be irresponsible to recommend to others that they not have surgery. I also doubt anyone on this board is/was happy with their weight or else why even consider it? My recovery was no big deal and I've always been able to get down Protein and Water since day 3 and tolerated every food I've tried. My laparoscopic hysterectomy was worse. The first few days suck, but that's any surgery. It's not easy when we're still adjusting to the new diet and lifestyle but for me it has completely changed my relationship with food and finally made it easy for me to not pig out on garbage.

Getting second thoughts
About a year ago when I was first researching I mentioned it to a few people and heard the EXACT same thing. "You're not THAT fat", or "That's so extreme, you don't need that", "Don't give up on yourself like that". I think it's totally normal to have reservations. When I finally decided to push forward with the surgery I only told one person besides my husband. People have uninformed opinions about weight loss surgery. Also, I almost completely backed out the night before, I think it's so normal that it's almost part of the process. You'll be fine, don't worry!

Protein
All I could tolerate post op was Muscle Milk. Are you still on liquids?

Surgery Monday 10/24 Feeling Hungry
I had the same thing going on and then realized that the feeling was actually acid. It feels very different post op then it did pre op and is just kind of like an unpleasant sensation in the stomach for me, similar to hunger.

Post op Day 8 First day of pureed food
Yeah that seems like a lot of food at once only 8 days out. I can only do about 2 oz at a time and I'm almost 3 weeks. Sometimes even that much and I can feel it coming back up. Maybe try 1 oz at a time and eat more times throughout the day?

Please help...surgery in the morning. Need advise.
I had the exact same thing pre op. I was running to the bathroom every 10 minutes.

Post Op Clear Liquid Phase Ideas
unjury broth was my favorite until I had surgery. All the sudden it tasted so gross. I bought some "better than bouillon" and made my own broth. I also found a great unflavored whey Protein and mixed it in with other things. I found that muscle milk was the only Protein shake I could tolerate. Here's the unflavored I used https://www.amazon.com/Clean-Label-Protein-Unflavored-Servings/dp/B019YWFHAW It's a little pricey but worth it

I know I know don't weigh. Just curious ...
I'm right here with you and the OP and actually made a similar thread. It is so very frustrating to have this surgery and be in pain and then be so careful with eating and drinking and not lose. I also haven't lost anything in 10 days and I'm only 18 days out. I guess all we can do is keep doing what they say. It's tough when others on the board are losing 20 or 30 lbs the first month though! I'm only down 7 since surgery date.

i am going to whine about my stall.
