  1. I'm next week as well and am super excited. I'm trying to get everything prepared for when I come home after the surgery. I have several flavors of protein drinks, my husband drinks the premier protein so I wasn't afraid to get those. I hope I still like them post surgery.
  2. There are several of us March 7th's!
  3. Waiting to go into my pre op appt. I get my surgery date today, yayyyy! The schedule is to meet as a group with the surgeon, nutritionist class, the nurse to get the incentive spirometer and how to use it, and then individual with the surgeon. I'm so stinkin' excited!!!
  4. I'll be in March somewhere, I go for pre-op appt on the 22nd. I had chest X-rays and EKG on the 14th, which they expect the surgery to happen within 30 days of that. So excited!
  5. I thought I would feel the need to do this as well, surprisingly, I don't want to. Every single diet before was the Monday start with an all weekend blow out! Stay strong out there, you can do it!

  8. I need these in my life! The flavors sound amazing. I hope my local grocery store carries them, if not I may have to see if they can get them. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  10. I quit the day before I had my PCP appointment to start my 6 month supervised diet. It was my biggest supplier of empty calories. 44oz Big Red's from Speedway had to go. The more Water I drank, the more I wanted water to drink. Someone on a post from this site had a 64 oz container that they ordered from Amazon to make sure they got all their water in for the day. I asked my husband for one for Christmas, it's insulated and keeps the water cold all day. We love it so much that I had to get him his own. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I hope my surgeon uses glue. When I meet with him I'm going to ask if he will. Staples look so itchy and painful. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Just curious as to what everyone was "sewn" back up with? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. Only my husband knows. I will probably tell my oldest daughter afterwards because she tends to over stress and I don't want her to worry that I could be the 0.1% that dies on the table. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  15. Got the glorious call this morning! I still have to do the h pylori breath test on February 3rd and then have a chest X-ray and an EKG! They submitted with 3 months of supervised diet visits with my PCP so they were able to fast track me. I've already done my 4th month visit though. I'm excited! 16. Some hospitals can give you a little shot of lidocaine in the hand before they insert the IV. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. I just learned I have H pylori so I have to take 2 antibiotics and an acid reducer. 8 pills a day! Feeling a little queasy after the first dose. I had no symptoms, they found it while doing the EGD. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. I have no leaks with the full face...now. It's trial and error. I sleep on my side with my hand tucked under my chin to somewhat keep my head from turning into the pillow. The mask I use is the Resmed Airfit F-10. It honestly takes months to find your groove with the CPAP and masks. Keep working with it, I know it's super frustrating but you will feel better. I can barely go to sleep if I don't have mine. Wear it while you are watching tv and learn to breathe with the machine, nice and steady, in and out. The rhythmic breathing can be very comforting. 19. You can find it in most supermarkets. Sometimes it is in the health food section (refrigerated) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. Hey there! I've been wearing a CPAP since 2008! Most companies, if not all offer a 30 day trial period where you can exchange the mask for a different one. I started out with a hybrid mask that I had to literally tape to my nose! I eventually switched to a full face mask. The mask will be the key to successful use. There is a forum called CPAPtalk that has great information. Keep wearing it, most people find it on the floor the next morning. Eventually you will get there and you will feel so much better. I used to be ready for a nap by noon everyday and it took everything I had to make it through the day. Best wishes to you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
