Hi wl fam! Hows everyone's mending going? Im still getting some swelling at the top of my belly. Still feels weird around my belly button sometimes, a little pain. I tried putting a marble in to shape it but it bothered me. Hopefully it doesn't close up. Sometimes i get an itchy sensation around area but when i go to scratch it doesn't help because the area still has some numbness. Maybe its a ghost pannus itch[emoji3] Feeling a little down tho. Along with the swelling and some weight gain i have to wear some of my old bigger clothes. Its disheartening. But i will get it together. And hopefully the swelling will subside. Hope everyone is feeling better!

For the first few appointments I kept asking my surgeon if he'd actually performed the sleeve surgery.
He laughed and assured me that he had.
The restriction to your stomach (it's not a pouch.....just a small stomach.....drop the pouch term lest you get heckled severely 'round here.....terminology police will swoop down fast & furious to correct us.......and we even have a resident school marm who detests when we don't use proper line spacing and subject verb agreement.....I'm from the South....therefore she gives me a pass....be warned).
Seriously, though.....you'll not likely feel the restriction in it's most demanding state right now. Liquids and soft foods are what's on the menu at the beginning so as to allow your new stomach to heal properly.
Later on the restriction shows up and flexes it's muscles for you.
Allow yourself to heal and follow your plan. Everything will work out in due time.

Have you informed your doctor? You need to move to prevent clots. Call the Dr and explain how you are feeling. You may also need a different pain killer. Are you taking the gas medicine daily? You need the gas medicine and you need to walk to get the gas out.

I've been a lot about this topic and what my comeback will be to people. And here is how I'm going to try to handle it: "I feel great, thanks for noticing" and then ask them a question to quickly change the subject.

The Soups are not counted as your mushy good. Its liquid so you just drink at the appropriate rate.

cbonet reacted to Dairymary in How much can you eat years after the sleeve? how much does the sleeve stretch?
I don't know how much I CAN eat, I just know how much I do eat in order to maintain my loss. The latter is much less than the former. I also know from years of watching postop WLS patients come and go from my support group that those that let their surgeries dictate their portions never reached goal or always regained. And this is true for all surgery types. It's the mental work that determines long term success. In general, those that had revision surgery were not any more successful the second time around than the first unless they put the time and effort in with a therapist.
The best thing you can do, going into another surgery is work with a mental health professional to figure out 1) why and how you became obese in the first place....those answers will help you change what needs to change. 2) figure out why your pouch stretched and don't repeat those things with the sleeve. There is much debate whether or not a sleeve stretches, but even the smallest sleeve can be made useless with poor food choices, grazing, etc. The fact you are looking for an excuse to be able to eat larger portions isn't exactly a good starting point.

I suggest looking at your patterns. Is this the first time you've really comitted to changing your life with weight loss or have you done it several times before and gained it back. For me I have a life history of gaining and losing with always going back to the. Gaining. I'm done with that. I think it's wonderful that you've done so well. There are so many factors in this decision, age, health issues, quality of life and history. Best wishes and great job.

The Protein powder plastics are great for things in the garage. Instead of individual Water bottles, I have 2 Brita water pitchers and use a refillable water bottle with a regular sipping top, we've always given our clothes to big brother-big sister. They take all sizes, all ages, and they come to the house to pick them up.

I loved cheesy cauliflower. Cook/steam cauliflower til very soft, toss it while hot into food processor, add shredded or sliced cheese, and whip it up. You can add GENEPRO Protein powder if you want to up the Protein.

I'm 2 weeks out. The first 5 days I didn't have much hunger. When I did Water or Crystal Light tool care of it. 2nd week out it began increasing. I'm on 3 shakes (I use premier) a day. I supplement with miso broth and homemade Bone Broth. I also have sugar free ice pops. They were very soothing a few days after surgery and I use them now. I'm hungry but it's really not awful. If I distract myself it gets better( I need to start cleaning the house in those moments)

Wait! You STILL want to know about my procedure even though I told you it was private? OK!

Every time I cough, I fart glitter. It's jamming up my vacuum cleaner.

Every time my partner and I have sexy time, my genie clamps down hard on his dickie-do and we have to call 911. The emergency operators chipped in to fund this.

Every time I sneeze, I O! It's great but with my allergies, it's dangerous when I drive.

Every time some asks me a personal question, I have an overwhelming desire to eat their face. Clearly I'm not starving.
