  1. Thank you all so much for your honesty and willingness to reply. Im worried that it is not happening as fast as i thought or that its not working for me. I am sticking to the plan and trying to be positive.

Has anyone else noticed that they are a bit emotional after surgery, i definitely have and seem to be tearing up at the smallest of things. I did read that it can be a anesthetic side effect.

    Trying to be patient.

Yes I was more emotional the first few weeks after surgery. I'm 5 weeks out now and that has leveled off now.

  2. I was wondering how how many calories a day do most people eat after gastric bypass. I'm 4 weeks out and I'm eating 700-850 a day. 70-80 grams of Protein. Losing around 2 lbs a week, just want to make sure I'm not eating too much.

What does your plan say? That would be fine with some doctors plans, too little on others and perhaps too much on some (though I can't imagine that honestly). The important part is what YOUR plan says

My plan doesn't include calories, just protien goals.

  3. While I am so happy for everyone, this is totally depressing for me. I had surgery on 8/23 at 311, almost 8 weeks out and am at 280 now, that's a total weight loAss of only 31 pounds. What am I doing wrong!!!! Any advice?

I think your doing great, when you can lose 15 lbs per month back to back that's a good thing! Keep your spirits up if you continue to lose at that rate you will be at goal in no time.

  4. Drink protien, eat protien, stay hydrated " Water, crystal light, ect" I use Unjury protien, it is good quality protien and you can add equal to it if you want it sweet. I monitored my blood sugar levels and decreased inulin as needed to avoid sugar lows. Talk to you primary physician about this. Good luck and remember to keep your goals at the top of your priorities. YOU CAN DO THIS!

  5. I had my gastric bypass 9/28, got home late on the 29th. I've been able to get my protine in 60 g and 60 oz of liquid also. It's my only job for the next few weeks so i try to be good at it. I start early 6 am and finish late at 10pm. My pain is a little less each day, and to be honest I was expecting much worse. I hate the liquid pain meds I have , they taste so bad. I guess it's good not to like them !!! Getting some walking in everyday and will start working my arms with free hand weights tomorrow. Losing about 1 lb a day so far.
