  11. I got my appointment set up today to see a Bariatric surgeon. April 12th can't come fast enough. This particular surgeon is in Covington, La. He will not even see a new patient until they have completed a check list. The longest part being a 6 month supervised weight loss program. I am happy to say I'm down 58lbs from just watching my intake and portion control. I've started walking and I hope I can keep that up at least 3 times a week!!! I'm sorry I'm just super excited!!! 15. @@KGee88 the only thing that has got me worried is he asked about suicidal thoughts. I didn't want to lie so I told him yes but it had been years since it even crossed my mind. Then he asked about did I make a plan & I told no I didn't make a plan. To be honest if I truly wanted to go that route I wouldn't be trying to get WLS! I have the means but I got too much to live for. Too many goals not to mention grandbabies! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App And good luck on passing your exam! Hopefully you will be posting your date soon! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. So I had my evaluation this morning! I was open and honest. The interviewer said he would recommend me but he doesn't have the final say. It will go to a supervisor and I will know within a week or 2 what their recommendation will be! I will be on pins and needles the entire time I think!!!! 21. My highest weight was 423. But when I started watching what I eat last June I was 412. I'm now 362. It's been a long long 8 months but I'm down 50lbs just by diet. You can do it. Hopefully you are younger and haven't had a hysterectomy to slow down your metabolism & it comes off faster for you. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  28. Thanks everyone! I think I'm so worried because I just went through a break up and I'm completely devastated. I cry a lot. Funny thing is I haven't turned to food. Some days I can barely swallow it. I'm doing this for me and only me. She didn't want to me have WLS at all. I guess you can say I have daddy issues too.....that is what has gotten me worried. I know I'm completely sane most of the tIme. Suicide has crossed my mind a million times lately but I do know that isn't the answer. I have the means to do it and yet here I am still breathing. I have too much to live for & I need to be healthy for it. I am ready to make this change. I'm a strong person. Being strong is all I know. I was told this surgery isn't a miracle cure. I know it's not but in my mind I intend to treat it as if it's a miracle cure. My desire to lose weight and to be able to do things I can't currently do out weigh everything else in my life. Thanks everyone for the advice and your stories. I greatly appreciate all the advice. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
