I don't think there's any way to tell you exactly what kind of questions they will ask because it's different for everyone. In general, they're looking to clear up the following:
    1) Do you have realistic expectations for surgery and the amount of work that will be required on your part both pre/post op.
    2) Are you truly ready to make healthy changes in your life and have you addressed the things that may have held you back before?
    3) What kind of support systems do you have in place in your life?
My evaluation was just a relaxed conversation with the psychologist, followed by an online test that I took afterwards. In hindsight, it wasn't scary at all and I worried (excessively!) for nothing. Hope this helps and good luck on your journey

So, my RNY was August 8th of this year. I started seeing the dietician and had my first health check visit 12/15/15, so almost 1 year ago. I started at 496 pounds. Yesterday I had an appointment and weighed in at 353. I'm 143 pounds down over about a year since I started my journey. I'd like to go about another 75 pounds. If I hit that mark, I'll be the weight I was as a junior in high school. I'm currently 42. I hope everyone else is having success with their journeys as well!!

You are doing GREAT!! Good for you!! I am also an RNYer. One of the very best things I ever did for myself!! Here are my STATS: HW 249( this time I had weighed 285#'s earlier just almost a year before) SW 232 LW 117 CW 125#'s. I have gained so much besides just the weight loss. I use to be on 12 different medications including shots 2 times a day for Diabetes. I got off all diabetic meds right away after my surgery. I am on less than 1/2 of my high blood pressure meds. I now take 4 meds plus my Vitamins. I can walk for my exercise. I walk 4 to 5 times a week and walk 4 to 5 miles each time I go!! So everything that I went thru was so TOTALLY worth it!! KEEP ON KEEPING ON!!!

If you're looking for Protein drinks other than "powder based", you might take a look at About Time Prohydrate. It's a Water based Protein Drink that has 20g of Protein per bottle, and is a nice break from the powder-based drinks. Also, Isopure is another option and I think their bottles are 44g of protein (but are larger bottles).
Also, you could try adding some unflavored protein to Soup broths. That was a big help for me immediately post-op.
    Best of luck!

I am 3 years post-op RNY gastric bypass surgery. I had severe acid reflux (GERD) prior to surgery. But this condition went into remission shortly after surgery and stayed there. My surgeon prescribed that I take prilosec (omeprazole) for the first year after surgery - not for acid reflux but to help my stomach heal.

Well, it's been a hectic journey so far. I'm 6'2" tall. When I started, my weight was 495. I had to complete 6 months of appointments with a nutritionist. Done. I have been scheduled for my surgery on 8/8/16. As of now, with just watching my food, and some exercise, I'm at 450. A small win for me as I have not lost weight in about 12 to 15 years, although I've tried!! I'm looking forward to the next phase of this journey!
