Lmbo. I'm reading these posts thinking "I'm never trying those things" then I read yours and I'm cracking up thinking "hmmm, maybe a little sample". Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

    Are you missing the crunch?

How do you make those? I would love to try it! Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App Just slice a zucchini into rounds - not too thin. Put a little olive oil on them and sea salt (some people put Parmesan and panko but I make them plain) you can put red pepper flakes or chipotle on. Play with flavored you like. 450 degrees for 25 minutes. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Ok. Thanks! I'm going to try it this week. Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

    August Bypass Buddies!

Thanks! My surgeon said it will be an all day event for me so I guess I will have the EGD, EKG, and all of the other tests done that day. I'm guessing they will call a few days before and give me the full rundown of what will take place but it's good to know before hand what to expect.

  21. yes somethings smell like pennies lol copper to me i look at food and i get turned off really fast the protein shakes taste gross to me now so i bout a non flavor one now . Sent from my LGLS740 using the BariatricPal App That's crazy how fast things can change. I'm already looking for protein powders that are not fruit flavored because I know I will not be able to last long on those. I hope to find a chicken flavored or something. I'm sure my NUT has some options to try so I will be sure to ask. Have you tried any of the broth type protein? If so, did you like them? Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App
  22. Ok. I'll keep that in mind and walk as much as I can. Have you experienced any change to your senses? I see a few people immediately have negative responses to aromas they used to love and how Protein drinks they loved before surgery makes them nauseous now. 23. Feeling good this morning! Going out to sample and select protein mix and gather staples for my pre-op and post-op weeks. I'm really excited to start this new chapter.

Valentina, thanks for the tip. When I got to the store, the sales associate told me the same thing about my tastes likely changing after surgery, so I got a few things I like for pre-op and an unflavored protein to have after surgery until I see what will happen. I will try the Quest products and look into making my own broth because I know I will want something savory. I did discover that I do not like the Isopure drinks. After sampling that, I had no appetite for the rest of the day. It was like it damaged my taste buds or something - perhaps I need to sample it everyday and I'll lose weight that way. LOL

Thanks, Cervidae! I will definitely contact you. Please send along any advice or tips you may have whenever you feel like it. I'm trying to soak up as much as possible now so I can have a good plan ready.

  24. Bornthisway622, good to know all is well. How bad is the pain? I had a few laparscopic surgeries and Im wondering if the pain is similar to that. I also had a c-section so I'm trying to see where this lies on the pain scale. Btw, I'm buying a good supply of Gas X today, no lie!! LOL Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

I hate it when people say...

My surgery isn't until August but social media is a beast with condemning some people for wls. I personally don't care for FB, IG, and the other sites but I have a FB page due to my son and keeping tabs on him so I've seen more than enough of the snide remarks and it's just pathetic. Most of those people are probably upset because they couldn't afford the surgery and the rest probably have no life so they can invest 12 hours a day to working out and cooking meals while the rest of us are barely able to carve out 45 minutes to dedicate to our well-being. Kudos to you all that have successfully achieved your weight goals or are actively working on it with the help of wls. I can't wait to say I'm a wls successor and tell the miserable haters to stfu!!
