  1. I was wondering if there are any others out there who are brand new too. So far I think I'm doing great. Haven't vomited at all and have only had a few bouts with nausea. Those were a result of the pain meds completely wearing off while I was sleeping... What a way to wake up. Does anyone have any tips on getting rid of the rest of the gas? I still have some shoulder pain and an occasional sharp pain in my left side (feels like a stitch I sometimes get from running). Also, they recommended Colace to start my bowels back up... But nothing yet... Or since Saturday.... Advice? Thank you in advance:) b Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. My post op instructions had decaf coffee on Day 3 with Full liquids. I just had the one mild cup with caffeine, it didn't bother my stomach at all. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  4. I was scared too, but it was really fine.... I took my belly pillow with me just in case but I didn't need it. I didn't strain I just let it happen. I also had a giant fart... Gross but a serious concern this early in recovery... That was fine too. I have a sleeve. Never thought I'd write a post like this lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. . Mine just eased today... I had a bowel movement and wow! Game changer. I feel somewhat normal! I'm only a day ahead of you...maybe tomorrow:). I admit that I 'cheated'- I had a regular cup of coffee.. 1 Splenda and a splash of skim milk... 30 minutes later and I was good to go. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Dressing this new body

Thank you for sharing this. I am on the other end of my journey and am getting sleeved on 7/25. You reminded me of how I felt when I gained all this weight. I used to be average size and packed on the pounds with pregnancy, stress eating and not taking care of or time for myself. I wore yoga pants and stretchy clothes for so long it was a rude awakening to realize that if I wanted something that looked good and was fashionable, I had to go to a plus size store. It took a long time to learn how to dress my bigger body. I can say that I did eventually master that and developed my own style. My point is that you will get this figured out and it will all be not just fine but great in the end. Instead of 2 stores and small departments with limited choices, you have a whole mall to choose from. Just like when we were kids figuring out "our style" we all have to or will have to figure it out again. Only this time I know I'll appreciate being able to choose clothes I like and not just ones that fit and disguise my weight. I know this is rough, but you've got this! Truth

I find it interesting that everyone seems to have a different pre-op diet. My dr's office gave me a meal plan. 600-800 calories a day from Protein and low carb vegi's for all 3 meals or a shake. I have been doing my best to follow the diet but it is loosely written so I'm not always sure I'm on track. I've been under 700 calories, under 40 carbs, under 25 sugars and over 65 Proteins every day. I hope it's enough... I've lost 5 pounds. Anyone in education getting sleeved?

I'm also a teacher, I'm scheduled for 7/25. I am really lucky that my insurance is paying-after jumping through 6 months of hoops. I also don't return to school (officially) until after Labor Day. I'm really excited/nervous. I'm glad to hear that your recovery has gone so well Triplethreat Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
