  1. Hi everyone,

I was banded in July and have only lost 10 pounds, most of which was from the liquid diet.

I've had a full but can still eat lots of food. I'm making better choices, eating smaller portions and Protein and have really back cut back on sweets. I go four hours between meals and I do not snack.

Any other suggestions? I was 170lbs to begin and I'm now 160.

    Thank you!

    Kelly

  2. It's hard at the beginning but you need to do this for yourself! It will also give you the confidence you need to stick to the rules after. I suggest you put a picture of inspiration on the cupboard and fridge. This might be a pic of a skinnier you, the worst photo of you, a pic of your kids, a pic of the lapband, whatever you need.

Throw anything out that is tempting you. Your family can hide their Snacks if they won't support you.

  3. Hi everyone,

I need your help. I am only 1 week postop and I was very foolish yesterday. I had rice and a quesadilla at a restaurant. I only ate a tiny amount of each, my hubby couldn't believe I could possibly be full, but it certainly was not puréed. I also had a frozen marguerita.

I chewed everything super well and had no pain or feeling of anything getting stuck. However, after, I felt like I had eaten a four course meal. I was absolutely stuffed and there was a lot of pressure and tightness.

Today my stomach feels and looks swollen. I am now panicking that I have somehow pushed the band out of place or ruined my surgery. I have no pain whatsoever.

Should I be worried? Would it be painful if the band has slipped? I can't believe I've done this to myself, only one week in!!

  4. Hi dorriee an,

The shoulder pain was excruciating but it gets better everyday! The pain from the incisions isn't actually that bad. They are all above my belly button on me so they don't restrict that much. The third day was the worst pain for that. Now they are bruising over so looks like the healing has started.

Good luck with your surgery. This is the beginning of your new life! Happy thoughts!

  5. Hi everyone,

It's been 4 days since I've had my band in. I am so sad and constantly teary and I don't know why.

I'm recovering as I should be, following the prescribed diet and doing ok. Hubby is super supportive but I am so teary and sad.

Is this possibly the anaesthetic? Did anyone else go through this? I have NOTHING to be sad about!

    Thanks,

    Kbarbs

  6. Thanks theProfessie for such a warm welcome!

I weighed 171 lbs before the preop diet. I am now 159. I am only 5'0" so I need to go down to 110 to be at my suggested weight. But I'll see how I feel.

I will head your advice and ensure that I stick to the proper stage. It is tempting to rush through it but I'm sticking to it... So far.
