  1. I had the worse dumping episode today since surgery. I never ever ever want to feel like that again. It was a mistake on my part. I had an empanada (forgotten it was fried) half a mini fish cake (fried) and 5 chips (fried). I didn't think about the implications when I ordered. Never again. Worst diarrhoea, sweating, shaking ever. Please don't put yourself through it.

  2. I'll take the droopy skin any day rather than where I was. Droopy skin has to do with genetics. You can't predict if you will have it or not. My skin isn't droopy per se but i have bat wings and legs are like that as well. I'll take it can always do something about it later. I'm going to use a personal trainer but apparently the guy I spoke to today said the power plates are really good for helping with saggy skin. I'll try that on Monday.

  3. I thought my starting weight shows on my ticker but if not starting weight was 311lbs.

As far as tips I strictly stick to eating Protein first with any meal and then if I can eat veggies I will. I've stayed away from bread, Pasta, and rice. I do allow myself carbs but I've switched from white potatoes to sweet potatoes. Cooking in advance helps as well. I can't do that whole meal prep for the week because I'm so fussy with food because I have to be in a mood to eat it haha. I cook portions for a couple of days. Water is sooooo important.

At the moment I've only been walking 3-5miles but just joined a gym today as I am having problems with loose legs and arm 'skin'. I've bought compression garments to help with that. I want to tone up and still loose. I have another 4.5st or 66lbs to go. I want to be 100lbs lost by my birthday in May so will step it up a notch ????.

Good luck to you all on your journey. I'm only just feeling like this surgery was the right thing for me.

  4. So I've started trying to introduce salad to my diet. Needless to say this has not gone well. For some reason I have had issues digesting this. I've tried many things and the only thing that works is not actually having salad leaves. Which is solooo weird. I've read many people have problems with salad but didn't understand why but now I do!! It's OK I'm down almost 70lbs since surgery so I will take that!!

  5. Hi, all. I'm about three months post-op now, and for about a month now, I've had numbness in my inner thighs and calves, my entire abdomen, and starting yesterday, tingling in my feet. I've also had extremely heavy periods since the surgery. I wasn't taking my Vitamins like I should've for the first two months or so, about, and after consulting my surgeon, they did bloodwork about a week ago, thinking I might be thiamine (b1) deficient. I got the results, and the surgeon says that everything looks fine, that my thiamine was within range, and that I should see my primary care doctor. With the holidays, I haven't had a chance yet (though not for a lack of trying to make an appointment), and I'm getting concerned. I've seen the blood work, and though the thiamine was within range, it was on the lower end of the range. (Normal is between 66 and 200 and mine was 72.) Could that still be causing the numbness? I've been taking all my Vitamins, including a B1 supplement, for about two and half to three weeks now, and I really haven't noticed much of a change, though I do feel a bit stronger. My numbness is still as bad as ever though.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? Could there be another cause?

Funnily enough I have been experiencing the same symptoms to the point where I had an ambulance called out to me because of it. I've seen my doctor and they've put me on nerve pain relief but it hasn't helped. I feel it more pins and needles/numbness when I'm moving around. It's been going on for at least a month now. Just had my bloods done on yesterday. I will see what the results say and see if this truly the problem. Good luck on finding an answer for you.
