  1. Hello all today I'm 4 weeks post op and I've already hit a stall I've lost 12-14 lbs(it keeps fluctuating) but it's been like that since post op week 2, has anyone else experienced a stall this early? Also I do fine with with eating/drinking during the day and don't have any cravings what so ever, but once night hits im feel like I'm starving and craving everything is this normal? TIA for all the info! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

That's good to hear I'm glad it moved for you, I'm taking the same advice and had my husband hide the scale and I'm just going to focus on eating well ,getting my liquids, and exercising and I will weigh in once I'm 6 weeks post op which is next Monday that'll have been 2 weeks of no weigh ins so I'm hoping the scale will be down a few pounds by then. 3. Thank you for saying this, I've had so many people questioning why I had the surgery because I wasn't "that big" and everytime I would ask myself in my head what does "that big " mean and "how big" do I need to be to make a life changing decision? I'm also 4'11 and had a slew of health conditions that by having this surgery would help control or eliminate, is it so bad that I'm 30 years young and would like to live long enough to have babies and raise them and be healthy enough to do so?! Why do I have to be a certain "big" to want to change for the better?! I just wish some people would go back to basics, if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything! 4. My surgery was 7/11 and I hit a stall at 2 weeks post op and have only lost 14lbs my start weight was 200lbs so a little on the smaller side, I didn't dry my expectations to high but I did expect to see a few lbs loss per week! It was suggested to me to measure myself to see if I'm loosing inches instead of bothering with the scale and driving myself mad, so I had my husband hide the scale and I will not get on it for 2 weeks, I'm just going to focus on getting in my protein/fluids and work out and pray for a loss in 2 weeks! Don't be discouraged good luck Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I've been experiencing the same thing and my husband told me he thinks it's the Protein Shakes because of the lactose, how did you determine that you'd become lactose intolerant because I used the same shakes and almond milk pre op with no issues but I cannot seem to figure out what's causing the diarrhea?! I'm so down, that's a great idea, definitely need to start the day more positively! I just told my husband once I go to bed in a minute to take the scale and hide it until next Monday, and I need to read that do I just google it or where can I find it? @@higher Yes I've been trying to stick to just once a week but for the last 2 weeks I weighed and didn't see a loss it makes me want to keep getting on the scale, maybe I'll have my husband take the scale and put it somewhere so that I cannot keep torturing myself! Wow crazy we're experiencing the exact same thing, I'm eating the same amount of protein per day as you and getting the same amount of calories, I'm not getting all the water in but I try to at least get 40-50 oz in and I'm walking at least 1.25-1.5 miles everyday and still nothing, I have my one month post op tomorrow so I'm hoping to get releases so I can hit the gym and add in some weight lifting and such in hopes that that'll help! Glad to know I'm not alone, sounds like we got our surgeries around the same time, we should keep in touch and follow each others progress Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  11. I'm 3 weeks post up but my tummy isn't liking a whole lot of soft/mushy foods, so far I've been able to add cheese, tuna, eggs, chicken salad, and lunch meat along to the liquids. My NUT told me no salad or raw fruits until 6-8 weeks and I'm not sure about the Protein bars, I suppose if they're soft enough and chewed really well and tolerated you could have them Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. I advanced to mushy foods last Monday and since then everything I've eaten goes right thru me, so today I decided to do all liquid except for dinner and I was fine but as soon as I had dinner it started again. Has anyone else experienced this once advancing to this stage and what did you do, should I go back to liquids for a few days and then just introduce one mushy thing at a time or should I continue with the mushy? I plan to call my surgeon tomorrow, and can't see a NUT until next week but, I didn't bother contacting them last week cause I was told this was normal but I'm not sure if I just tried to introduce to many things at once that's causing this or if I'm just not ready for this stage yet! Just looking for advice from those who may have experienced this! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Mushy/soft foods

I think that's where I messed up I was so exited to add some food to my diet, that I didn't just try one thing at a time, although my instructions didn't say to do it that way I just figured that I don't know what's being tolerated because I'm trying so many different things. But I will try it that way this week and hopefully things will be better Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Mushy/soft foods

I've been keeping a diary and I can't see the NUT until the 11th but I plan to discuss this issue with her, just wanted to get some insight from people who may be going thru or went to the same things! Thank you for your input I think I will do liquids all day tomorrow, then try to introduce one thing every couple of days this week and see if I can figure out what's causing this! @@KristenLe yes after my 2 weeks liquid diet I could begin soft foods/puréed as tolerated, since I've not been tolerating it to well I've some what gone back to liquids but still trying to follow my plan and introduce the food back into my system, the symptoms have been less and less each day this week so I think it's getting used to them Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

All these posts have been so helpful, I'm a lil over 2 weeks post op and have been experiencing hunger pangs/cravings too! I've added some soft/puréed foods but my stomach doesn't seem to like them to much as it's causing some runny stools, sorry for the TMI, did anyone else experience this once adding soft foods? 21. I'm 2 weeks post op and started my mushy/puréed stage on Monday, I'm curious as to how some of you guys go about eating/ drinking for the day! Do you just do Breakfast, lunch and dinner and drink water/liquids in between or do you just eat/drink when you're hungry, do you surgeons have you on a specific calorie count per day? Any info is appreciated! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one struggling with this phase, it sounds like you have it all together, I may try some of those things you're doing and see it works for me! I live in a foreign country so I understand! I guess I'm finding it hard because I'm just not hungry so I don't want to eat, but I know I need to but if I'm still full from the previous meal why force myself to eat?! The struggle is real Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I hear you but you do have to force yourself on the protein a bit. My doctor wants me getting at least 60-70 grams a day. That's why the shakes are so clutch. Honestly I grabbed a bunch of single packs for this trip last minute and thank god I did. I don't know how I would have hit my goals without them. I just checked and I only have 3 left for 4 more days and I had been relying on them 2x a day. So I'm going to need to force myself to eat like fish or something on a strict schedule over the next 4 days or I won't hit my goals. It's really hard though. Like this morning I had to leave for the airport around 6 am. I woke up at 5 and forced myself to choke down a half a Greek yogurt. I sooo didn't want it, I'm never hungry that early. But now I'm on a plane and won't be anywhere near food/protein until at least noon. I looked frantically in the airport for a protein shake but they didn't have them. So even the measly 7 grams of protein I got from the yogurt was a worthwhile battle because without it I'd be at 0. Actually I just remembered I threw my last babybel in my bag so I can eat that now. I don't think we're ever supposed to be "hungry" at this stage. I would happily just sip fuids at this point. If it helps you at all- I make my protein shakes with milk for added protein. They have milk in Germany! Wow you're doing great, I guess I really need to focus more and really make sure I'm getting in my Proteins and such whether I'm hungry or not, I've been using almond milk never been a huge fan of milk unless it's in Cereal. Thank you for the info, my plan is not in very much detail I'm stationed in Germany and although my doctors speak English their plans are very different from those in the states once released from the hospital you can have most foods that are tolerated but in moderation and protein shakes of course, the literature they gave me had examples of foods/menus but the only thing it really says is to try to get in 64oz of liquid and 70-80g of protein! I have an appt finally with a NUT on post here but not until 8/11 so I'm kind of on my own and just trying to follow my previous surgeons plan! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
