    Question about tomato soup?

Yes - tomato soup was on my list as long as it was low sodium and strained our pieces. I liked Pacific Organic low sodium cream of tomato and I also liked Trader Joe's low sodium cream of tomato. Still do :-) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Coincidence. Your body is adjusting to the lack of calories now AND you're still recovering from surgery. Narcotics don't give you energy. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. Like others have said, Bariatric Advantage - I feel like I'm cheating when I take them, because they do taste like candy. Starburst and Tootsie Rolls. Yum Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. Only took the drip for a couple of hours after surgery and then, took nothing. Honestly felt fine, except for some nausea. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Calories?

The first couple of months on soft food, I was between 450 calories to 600 calories - max. I'm now 4 months out and I'm between 650 calories to 800 calories a day. That's per my doctor and nutritionist guidelines. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    HAPPY HEALTHY HOLIDAYS CHALLENGE!

I know I won't get to my goal for this challenge, but in the long run, as long as I can get into the 130's and stay there, I'll be happy! After all, I did start this year weighing 333lbs! Bursitis and Sleeve

Mine went away. Sleeved 8/31/16 First noted I was pain free, when my husband and I attended Desert Trip back in early October. Easily did the walking with no pain :-). It occasionally flares up when I overdo it, but nothing like it was. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    HAPPY HEALTHY HOLIDAYS CHALLENGE!

Woo hoo! I surpassed my challenge goal: CW 211.6 12/26/16 I'm having surgery next week on 1/3. I'm supposed to be in the hospital for 3-4 days. I'm hoping to hit onderland by the end of January. I haven't seen below the 200s since 2001 - law school, bar passing, marriage, cancer, and two grand-babies ago :-) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Looking for August sleevers

Well, this morning I weighed myself and I'm at 211.6. This is amazing! I've officially lost almost 100 pounds since I started this journey (34 pounds pre op, 64 pounds since surgery on 8/31). I have a lot more to lose to get to my goal, but it all seems more of a possibility now then when I started :-). I'm having surgery again on January 3 to repair my hernias - the ones I received from my cancer surgeries. This will be the first surgery I've had in 4 1/2 years where they're not taking something out :-). I'm a little scared because I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to get in all the Protein and Water when I'm recovering. Still having issues with constipation. Further, I noticed this week that hair loss has started :-(. Also, my arm skin looks like it belongs on a 90 year old alligator. These are such minor changes - I'm so glad I had this surgery. I can move and chase my grandkids. I can play with them and get down on the floor with them. The constipation, hair loss, and saggy chicken wings are inconsequential in comparison. My surgeon said I have a really small frame - say what?? Other than short, small has not been a part of my vocabulary in 16 years. My waist - which has been hidden behind rolls of lard - is finally back. The damage I did to my body eating all the crap I did for so long, is appalling. I'm praying that I continue to eat mindfully everyday and that I use this tool that has brought me a new chance at life, the way it's meant to be used. I pray that I will no longer be a slave to food and that it will remain what it's meant to be - fuel for my body rather than food for my soul. Happy New Year to all! Post menopausal women only please!

I've been in full surgical menopause for 4 years (radical hysterectomy for cervical cancer). Prior to the big C, I had lost 72 pounds on WW. I gained it all back plus another 40 after all my cancer surgeries. That 72 pounds took me nearly a year to lose. My weight loss since surgery (8/31/16) is currently 64 pounds. I'm not quite 4 months out. So, even if I'm a slower loser (which I don't think I am), surgical menopause really seems to have little to no effect. What really seems to make an impact, is (1) am I getting enough fluids in (2) am I meeting my Protein goals (3) am I exercising and (4) am I eating the right food and not crap. 14. I'm 5"2 and I know what I want to weigh - between 130-135. I'm almost 4 months out and although I'm satisfied with my weight loss (62 pounds post op 8/31 and pre op 34 pounds for a total of 96), my weight is moving slowly now. My surgeon said I should concentrate on 60 percent of my excess body weight which would put me in the high 170s. I would not be satisfied with that. I'm hoping my body will get me down to goal :-). 17. I was sleeved 8/31/16. I have been to the ER now 2xs (the most recent was this Saturday) for the same exact thing. I have been to the urgent care 3xs for this . I am doing everything that my surgeon and PCP have asked. I take Colace everyday. Miralax every other day. My non-Protein food is always green fibrous veggies - everyday. I drink at least 64 ozs of Water everyday. I use a squatty potty... I still have constipation which has caused both internal and external hemorrhoids. It's awful but it's my ONLY complaint about having surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. Congrats! HW:310 SW: 278.4 (8/31/16) CW: 216:4 (today) I've lost 62 pounds since surgery which was 3 1/2 moths ago for a total loss of 93.6 pounds :-). I've officially lost 50 percent of my excess body weight. My surgeon said he would be satisfied at 60 percent, but I'm looking to try to lose 100 percent of my excess body weight. I'm half way there. Over 300's

I was 310 when I started my Options classes with Kaiser. I weighed 278.4 lbs on the date of my surgery which was 8/31/16. Yesterday, marked 3 months since surgery and I weighed in at 220. Ironically, I wanted RNY but my surgeon said it was too risky for me because of a pre-existing huge hernia that I will be having reconstruction on in January. I have been very happy with the sleeve and would highly recommend it. You got this! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
