I wasn't allowed to have any food or drinks before my upper gi. They said if I had taken even a sip of Water they would have rescheduled. I don't remember what size my stomach looked to be but I did find the test interesting as I watched the drinks go down on the screen.

Syntrax Nectar has a Cookies N Cream Protein Powder that is DIVINE mixed with Fairlife Skim. They have some other sweet flavors too, but I haven't tried them. Get a sample pack and see if they help.

I had RNY and took 4 weeks...I could have easily went back at 2 weeks but went ahead and took the extra couple weeks to just enjoy being off. I did yard work and spent time learning more about my new diet.
My opinion, 4 weeks is a nice amount of time...even though physically I could have went back sooner, it was nice to take the extra couple weeks to just mentally wrap my head around my new lifestyle.

Please read and take this seriously. I was on three pills for high blood pressure before I was sleeved. I continued taking my HighBP meds post-op and in about 3 or 4 days when I would stand up, I would get lightheaded and pass out on the floor. I went to my doctor who wanted me to go to the Emergency Room immediately. I had an appointment with my surgeon a few hours later that day and his office was right next door from a Hospital. On the HighBP meds my BP was 80/30. I asked him "How long will it be before I can stop taking my BP meds?". He said "Immediately after surgery". Mind you I'm single and live in my own condo. What if I had fallen and broke my neck? Everything about my life is changing. The Post-Op diet is basically eating better, period. I feel that the change will be wonderful with the proper nutrients and the right food. Today is 6_10_2016 and I took a day off from swimming. I am swimming 20 laps in a Olympic size pool. Unbelievable.

Day 6 post op (sleeved 7 11) I'm feeling pretty good. I have actually been cooking for my family and I'm still not hungry. My big incision is still very painful when I over do it. Doing a lot of walking. Which help with the gas pain and stiffness. I can't believe I'm not hungry! But I'm glad I'm not!

I start my puréed stage tomorrow, and made the ricotta bake tonight. I tasted it... It's goooooooood. Really good.
Like... I'm not a great cook but the recipe was really easy to follow...and it came out really good.
Few things I noticed (and if anyone has ideas on how to improve this I'm all ears)...
I think I burned the cheese, but it still came out tasting good. The recipe is amazing and really easy to do. Here's a link to the recipe I followed (scroll down on the page):

The mozzarella cheese topping wasn't sticking to the base, but I wonder if I might have used too large a pan thus the under-spread was too thin? I'm going to see if it's better after being refrigerated and then re-heated.
I used low-fat mozzarella cheese and low fat ricotta, but I'd be interested to figure out the nutritional info (do I just combine the totals on the ingredients?)
The ricotta base breaks apart really easily, which is probably why this is allowed during the purée stage...
For those trying this the first time, if you are nervous at all, just eat really small bites and chew the pants off it and you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

First, welcome to the sleeved life.
You mention you are on Clear liquids. How are you doing at getting in your Protein? You might actually be hungry.
How are you doing at getting in your fluids? You might be thirsty.
Are you taking a PPI? You might have stomach acid which can mimic hunger.
When I was at your stage I didn't really have a chance to get hungry because I was sipping something all day.
If you want something to chew, try sugar-free Popsicles and/or crushed ice.

Let me be quite honest the first day after surgery is a rough one, but by the 2nd day it gets better, and by the 3rd well your headed home. Just remember why you choose to do this, to begin with that helped me a lot . Any questions I'm here and will share what I have been through thus far .
