  1. Many of us have gone through the same experience. I'd never had surgery before and was questioning this decision right up to the point of being wheeled into the OR.

Now 2.5 years later and 160 pounds lighter I know it was the best decision I ever made. I tried every diet and even lost 100 pounds a few times, but it never lasted long. I've been at goal since 9 months out and have never been happier.

Just do it and don't look back ...

Thanks for sharing your story, you're an inspiration.

  2. @AleNunez

    I hope everything workout okay...

Did you get your date before you was approved by your insurance?

Yes, and now they have me on standby because my insurance still has me under 'medical review'. They gave me a tentative date for this Thursday but it won't happen unless my insurance approves by Wednesday. And I'm still doing the liquid diet.< /p>

  3. yay!! Good for you!!

    Good for you! Yeah!

I was supposed to be at the end of July but now it looks like end of August. Wish it was tomorrow. ..

I was supposed to have surgery tomorrow and was just told that there were some issues with my insurance and it may not happen tomorrow after all.

  4. I chose the sleeve because the weight loss isn't as fast as it is with the bypass. I guess I fear what will my body look like after I lose the weight and I prefer to lose 1 pound at a time. Before the GI cleared me for surgery he said that if I had reflux then my only choice would be the bypass. Have you talked to your surgeon about it?

  5. @@Ale Nunez What does your diet allow? You may want to put a call into your surgeon for suggestions on what you can have. Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks Kristen !! My diet allows only 5 Protein shakes per day, crystal light, decaff tea and the SF Jello and pops. They told me I could add chicken broth and I just did a quick run to go get some bc I'm at work. I'm seeing that other people are allowed more things which I think it's awesome. My dr said since they're affiliated with the Cleveland clinic they also follow their processes.
