    Protein shots?

Ok you guys are awesome!! I was sleeved almost 3 months ago. And I'm down 65lbs after surgery and 50 before. Thank you guys for your input. It really helps to have people who understand and can help so much! I'm gonna look for those protein pouches. I don't think I'll do the shots because if they're nasty like y'all say then I'll just waste my money. And I've already done that a lot on protein drinks and bars. Thanks again!

    Protein shots?

Hey guys. I am struggling with my protein. Horribly. All the shakes and bars are gross to me. And make me nauseous. I've seen these protein shots on amazon. They have 42g in them. I'm wondering if anyone's tried these?

    water & proteins

Today makes exactly 2 months since my surgery. And I'm having the exact same issues! I was so dizzy a few weeks ago that I had to go to the doctor. My surgeon is two hours away so I saw my primary. I started drinking pedialyte mixed with flavored water to thin it out and make it taste better. I started to feel so much better. I still struggle with fluids and I don't think there's been a day since surgery that I've hit my protein target. I hate all protein drinks I've tried. The only thing I've found that I can stomach is unflavored protein powder and I mix it with decaf coffee and sugar free vanilla syrup. It's really trial and error. Just do the best you can and don't get discouraged. Everyone has these problems.

    Hunger Pains?

I totally thought I was losing it when I had those feelings! I don't really think it's hunger I think it's your stomach just healing. I'm 6 weeks out and my stomach makes the craziest sounds when I'm eating or just whenever. But those weird feelings go away I promise! And after 2 weeks I felt great. Hardly any soreness. Good luck!

    Taking Communion

I did communion at 2 1/2 weeks out. We do ours with the little square of breadstick and grape juice. I wasn't worried about the bread because I knew I could chew it up really fine but was scared the juice would make me nauseous. So I took the sip and immediately after I chased it with a sip of water. I was just fine.

    Feelin like crap...

Thanks guys! I saw my doctor a day or two after that and she said what I suspected. Not getting enough fluids in. I started drinking pedialyte mixed with some flavored water. And feeling much better now!! No more dizziness.
  7. I had the same thing! It goes away I promise! Mine only lasted a week maybe. Just sip your water and all that good stuff.

Will I ever get my energy back?

I talked with my surgeon about this at my last appointment and he said it'll take a few months for our energy comes back. Especially for us women. Because we store our estrogen in our fat and we're losing it. And it'll make our mood go crazy. I've been crying at the tv a lot lately lol I'm on b12 shots every 2 weeks. Maybe try that? I'm so sorry you have a crappy doctor. To go through this crazy experience we really need a great doctor for the support.
  9. Hey y'all. I was sleeved on 6/29. I was doing great and feeling great until about a week ago. I started feeling really tired and dizzy and nauseous. Dizzy all the time. I'm having the hardest time getting my fluids in and my protein. I was never a big drinker before and it's the same thing now. I've lost 40lbs already which is great but this dizziness crap is driving me crazy! I'm afraid to drive anywhere because it's so bad. I'm thinking I'm dehydrated. I have my month follow up with my surgeon in 5 days. Anyone else felt this way?

To go to ER or not

Yes absolutely go to the ER. I went before my surgery because mind kept dropping that low and I was admitted. You definitely need to go.

    Late June Sleeve Buddies?

Had my post op appointment today. Staples and drain are gone. And I lost 34lbs. I wasn't really worried about losing weight just getting my protein and water in. I was shocked. In two days I'll be moved to soft foods. Woohoo!

    Late June Sleeve Buddies?

Hey guys! I am so happy to have found you. I had my sleeve on 6/29. When I first woke up in recovery I was in horrible pain and then in my room I was still hurting. All I wanted was my mommy lol But I got IV dilaudid And that really helped but knocked me up. And my mouth was so dry from the anti nausea patch. I could barely talk. But they finally got me up walking and going to the bathroom and that made a world of difference. I was released the next day. Thank goodness. So far I've had no problems. No nausea or vomiting. I ate tomato soup and it didn't bother me at all. Just these weird gurgling noises. The pain since I've been home has been minimal. Just where my drain is. I was sent home on Norco and haven't needed it much. My drain and staples get taken out tomorrow!! And I get to go to soft foods. Scrambled eggs here I come. All I've wanted since my family's cookout is a grilled weinee with ketchup. I'm sooo sick of cottage cheese, pudding, and protein shakes. And I'm having the worst time getting my fluids in. I was never a big drinker before and now it's a challenge. A big one. I also get these weird burps that feel like they're stuck. Even when I'm not drinking anything. And I haven't been able to feel full yet. I'm so scared of getting sick that I eat a little and then stop. Puking is never an option for me lol I'm so excited to have other people that know what I'm going through and can relate. I feel so alone in this sometimes.
