Hi Sissi829! I'm thinking the bacon might be what set him off It's not a great choice anytime but especially not during week 1. I'm so sorry for you that you're on a month of clear liquids...that will be a challenge, but you can definitely do it! Is there a registered dietitian in your doctor's practice that can talk with you about options for high Protein clear liquids? I had my surgery on 6/21 and I really liked the lemonade flavored Isopure clear drink. It's very high protein and kept me feeling full and not hungry while I was on clear liquids. I got mine at GNC. It sounds like you may have stomach acid issues...did you have reflux prior to your surgery? I'm on a drug called Protonix for 3 months post-op to keep my stomach acid down, are you taking that or something like it? I've had zero hunger and other than swallowing Water too quickly, I don't have any pain anymore. I hope things start going better for you, hang in there. If you were committed enough to have a second surgery, you can manage this phase Yeah the bacon just took folks overboard. my nutritionist is not helpful, she comes with the surgeon. I got a package deal. . I went to see her today and that was a waste of time but on the bright side she did up my follow up appointment with my dr for Friday instead of the original 21st. The reason that I did join this forum was for some ideas and support not to have any1 pity me. I suggestions on what to do. I suffered with G.E.R.D prior yo My surgeries an my dr did prescribe the Omeprazole which is for reflux so I think I'm good on that part. I also read that dehydration can cause the hunger feeling too but I don't feel dehydrated. but then again all is possible. Yeah. He did my lapband in 2012. I lost 50lbs in 1 month and a 1/2 and that caused a slip so he had to reposition it. I got sick in 2014 but nothing band related. My husband and mother always blamed my "messing with my stomach" on my cancer but i honestly thank god that do to me having the band they were able to see my grape sized thymoma. The only thing I didn't like about having the band was the feeling of being "stuck" and the stress it caused my husband, kids and myself when we'd go out to eat and I'd get "stuck" and experienced shortness of breath. I soo feel left out with everyone talking about these Protein shakes. This is what my protein consists of. 3 x's a day. @@Christinamo7 same thing I said. And I totally I totally understand the harm that I may put myself through. But it's not easy cooking at home for the family and working around food close to 12 hrs. Some folks just don't understand and I don't need them too. I joined this app because I thought I was the only one or that I was just being selfish. Many things are a lot easier said then done. I've gotten to point of depression and regret. @innersurfergirl. I've tried everything u have suggested. I have the enhancers for the Water. Drinking water has never been an issue nor do I not like drinking water. The only thing I haven't tried is the infusions. I'm gonna see how I do with those. @RobertD16. I feel u're pain. I was hungry on day 2outta surgery. I was confused on weather they were gas pain though but then I got up, walked around went home and still had the same feeling. That's just the thing. My Dr says I'm supposed to be on Clear liquids one month, full liquids on month 2 and purées by month 3. . Nothing was ever said about Protein shakes. Just regular nasty& thick ass protein 3 x's a day and that has helped with the faint, nauseous & weak feeling that I was experiencing but not at all with the hunger. I really don't think that 1/2 an inch of bacon would really cause any harm to my surgery. I did however feel somewhat dizzy/nauseous just drinking Water and still happens if I drink to fast. I went to my dr for my week follow up and he sent me liquid Protein to take 3x's a day. It's helped with that almost faint feeling but not with the hunger. I don't really know what to do anymore. I'm on liquids still. But I do chew stuff up and spit them back out. I've also had some of my kids Cereal ( 2-3 teaspoons full) and felt kinda full to tell I the truth. And it did take that jittery, weak, dizzy feeling I was experiencing at the time. Ditto over here. I'm also feeling kind of depressed and I chewed stuff too to have a different taste in my mouth other then Jello and broth.
