  1. Ok since my surgery on 2-20 I have been insatiably thirsty. I have heard before that when you feel hungry all the time your brain is trying to tell you that you need fluids. I just want to chug a gallon of ice cold Water. And I can't, it hurts just to take a few sips. When i try to eat other foods i have to force myself because all i really crave is water. Am i alone? Does anyone else have this crazy craving for water? hw - 260 Sw -250 Cw - 234

    Prescriptions Trans border

Honestly if you don't think you can even do a pre op diet for 2 weeks how are you going to change your lifestyle, FOREVER. They do surgery on your stomach not your mind. You will still have cravings afterward. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Need help with insurance qualifications!

If you are on a 6 month dr supervised diet prior to the surgery. They do that to see if you can lose that weight without surgery. Yes if you do that diet and you cant lose it ins will approve you. There is not a max weight limit to be approved, but there is a minimum. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

  12. Shopping is such an issue for me. I buy the 2x tshirts from the men isle in walmart because i wouldn't be caught dead showing my curves. And i have 2 pairs of jeans that i loved. But as most of you know when you have big thighs they rub together and wear holes in the crotch area. So i have been sewing Patches on my jeans so i dont have to go shopping for a new pair. That is how bad i hate shopping. I cant wait till Feb so i can get my WLS and throw my clothes out. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Sleeve Over Lap Band?

My surgeon told me that they dont even offer the band anymore. There are complication that can happen that require another surgery and i sometimes ins doesnt cover it. It has nothing to do with compliance to your diet and the competence of the surgeon. Plus the results just arent as good as with the sleeve. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Alcohol after sleeve

Be super careful with alcohol. With WLS drinking alcohol is like getting an alcohol IV. With almost instant effects. Also if you ever had any addiction issue with it. The rate of alcoholism is sky high with WLS patients. I would say stay away from the stuff forever. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    My work here is done

Lmao. Im pretty sure a doctor told her not to do it and she did it anyways. She will regret not doing what she was told when she starts gaining weight back. She needs to get her feelings hurt. I say screw ignorant people, dont let them win

    Unsure about insurance

Hello all. So my appt is coming up on July 18. I am 5'5 234 lbs. With a BMI of 38.9 Im actually trying to get up to 40 but I don't think I'll make it. I'm pretty sure I don't have any co-morbidities. I know my BCBSTX insurance medical policy for bariatric surgery states if im a bmi of 40 all I have to do is go through psych eval, and agree to the post op regiment and diet. But why do I think there are hidden requirements that aren't listed? Can someone who has BCBSTX tell me what they had to do to get approved? Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App
  21. Hello everyone. Im getting ready to see a dr. About bariatric surger and I'm interest to know how long it took to get approved by your dr and insurance (i have BCBSTX)???

    Getting approved for surgery

How did yall gain weight. Im just eating a bunch of junk but i feel there a better option. Did anyone use weight gainer shakes?
  23. So i have to agree. You ate fat and carbs and milk also has no good dietary value. Should have eatend egg, or peanuts, some tuna. Look for high protein foods with super low fat and little to no carbs. Good luck dear. Dont beat yourself up. Educate yourself and adapt!!

    Getting approved for surgery

I know this is a person question but can i ask what your bmi was? Mine is 40.3. I feel like i should gain some more weight. I know they put you on a liquid diet for preop and that will make me lose weight and be under the required bmi the day of surgery.
