  1. Well I have to find a way to get the last NUT appt in before March 5th to even think of my ideal date... but it isn't a completely out there idea! Here's to figuring it all out!

How many nutrition appts do you have to attend and how far a part are they? I had to have 3 but at 1X a month for 3 months. Of course that gave me time to get all my other required medical evaluations done. Good luck!

  2. Is it even possible to get a date without having finished all steps? I am so worried I have my hopes up and next week they will be crushed... guess I'll ask tomorrow at the orientation. :(

Not with my surgeon. I had to finish the 3 months of requirements before my paperwork was submitted to insurance. After insurance approval, I had a 1/2 prep class and was given my surgery date. It took 4 months for the entire process.

  4. Heading back out on the road for work. First work trips since the surgery in September. I have to admit, I am looking forward to people's reactions when they see me! :-)

How exciting! You will have to tell us what they say. I leave Saturday for 8 days, for a conference. I'm somewhat nervous about it because I'm used to cooking my own food and having control over everything by weighing and measuring it. I will definitely make healthy choices and make sure I walk 10,000+ steps a day. I've got to keep my hands away from the sweets and make sure I drink a protein shake every day. It's going to be challenging but I'm up for the challenge.

  5. One week down on my pre-op diet and already my weight loss has stalled. Not sure if that's normal or not.

I was stalled the entire 2 weeks during the pureed stage. Stalls happen. I'll be 3 months out on the 1st and I've been on a stall for 1/2 of the time. The scale is going down so I try not to let it frustrate me too much. The scale will move. Just give your body time.

  6. The push to onederland begins again. I'm doing the Tony Garza six week fat loss challenge. If I lose 20 pounds, it's free. If I fall short, it's $350. I'm two years out, and I need a new challenge.

I have 2 friends who did his challenge and they rocked it! You will too. Good luck. Keep us posted.

I really wish I lived in OKC again, so I could do this challenge. Lawton is too far away. Good luck with everything!!!

I sent the Amazon link to my son and asked for one for Christmas. Thank you for the tip :)

  10. 59# down today. ilostwhat.com says that's the same as 640 Oreos. LOL. Thanksgiving with my family will be way different this year!

  11. Hoping everyone has a great week with their families and safe travels for all.

  12. I missed it yesterday, but yesterday was my 15 months post-op date. :) I've lost 200 pounds since surgery and 263 overall. Still baffles me!

  13. Full liquids isn't so bad. I'm lovin' tomato soup right now *-*

Pre or post surgery? I love tomato soup too, but it caused me way too much acid (GERD), post op. Just be careful with it.

  14. I have my surgery date Dec 8 2016. Super excited. Did anyone have to be out of work past 2 weeks?

    1. Armygalbonnie

Today is my first day back to work. 15 days post op. I was very cranky when I got to work this morning, but mainly because I had so much work waiting for me. I'm a little tired today and I actually rested for about 15 mins during my lunch. For the most part, I've done pretty well. I think getting back to my daily routine is really going to help. With my job, I'm up-and-down about 50% of the time.

That's AWESOME!!! Congratulations. I'll join you on the loser's bench tomorrow!

  16. I'm doing good with my fluids (can drink almost normal sips) but not so good with protein. Sending the SO to get something else I can try for protein. The protein shakes aren't cutting it - and Atkins LIft (my backup plan) is nasty!

    1. Armygalbonnie

      Armygalbonnie

Even in liquids, I was told I could do s.f. Pudding with tasteless protein powder added. Can you do this?

  18. I should've gone to a different school.......one I could be proud of on game days.

  19. Now I wait... 2nd dietician appointment isn't until 10/25... tick tock... tick tock.

    1. Armygalbonnie

      Armygalbonnie

Girl, it sounds like you get plenty of exercise without having to squeeze in more. Just having a 2 year old is exercise by itself!!!

  20. After losing a total of 266 I have finally been referred to a neurosurgeon. When I got that referral from the spine surgeon I cried. I may finally have surgery which will allow me to once again walk, dance and do all the things I use to do over 26 years ago.

    1. Armygalbonnie

      Armygalbonnie

WOW, that is great! You've done an amazing job! Good luck with your neuro consult. I pray everything works out for you.

But it goes by so quickly! I started on 07/22 and I have my last apt this week. I really used the time to break myself of caffeine, Diet Coke, refined sugar and adding healthy protein. It's been a good wait. Good luck with everything.

  22. I'm torn between VSG or RNY?

    1. Armygalbonnie

      Armygalbonnie

I was too, but my surgeon made the choice for me. I thought I was going RNY but because of my auto immune disease and use of steroids/anti-inflammatories, my surgeon said I needed the VSG. Talk to your surgeon and see what he/she recommends.

  23. Well... met with Dr. July, she doesn't think my esphogeal issues combined with my low BMI will be enough to get approval through my insurance. :( I had been fasting so I had my blood drawn to check my cholesterol and if that doesn't come back as "high" then we try a sleep study, but I don't snore... and I think I sleep fairly well. I am not feeling so good about getting approved. Ugh...

    1. Armygalbonnie

      Armygalbonnie

I never snore either but shockingly I have sleep apnea. I don't sleep well but I always thought it was because I have an active mind. Good luck with everything!

  24. Very frustrated with the fact that I weigh the same as others and am the same height and I am not wearing the size 16 & 18 that they are wearing. I am not even close to that size yet. Why are our bodies so different and when will I be out of the X's ?

    1. Armygalbonnie

      Armygalbonnie

When I used to work out all the time, I weight 160 but wore a size 6/8. That was crazy!!! It had to do with muscle mass and tone.
