  2. I think if someone is actually going thru a program, their NUT, and surgeon will have told them what they can or cannot eat. Instead of getting in a heated argument the only way to "support" that person is say ask ur dr. Some post don't deserve a response. Questions about insurance or experiences or recipes etc I get.....but I haven't had my first NUT visit and I kinda have an idea about what to expect my first couple of months after surgery. Because of previous post and people writing about their experiences. Support forums shouldn't be about u telling me yes u can have a soda or no u can't have bacon. I should already know that. So I think it is enabling with a dash of confrontation. Let their Drs deal with the headache. I see so many post go unanswered with real legit questions but the ones asking about bacon get all the attention. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    My work here is done

Well this is sad. I'm a newbie, just started the process and to read this makes me feel like there is no support here. I'm glad there are vets here. I read a lot of old post and vet post to get good info. U shouldn't just punish all for a few. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Comorbity

Can someone please help me? I'm trying to find a list of comorbid diagnosis that I could possibly qualify for. I checked my insurance website and I called my insurance provider which is Bcbs federal. They emailed me pros and cons or wls.... Not much help there. Is anxiety or depression a comorbity? Unsure about insurance

Yeah, gaining weight isn't as easy as I thought it would be. So I'd wear heavy clothes and eat a heavy meal, and drink lots of Water before the weigh in. Good luck Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I will be the first to start

Hello to all!!!! I'm hoping for a November surgery date. I have my first consultation visit on Aug 4th. I will meet the nurse, surgeon, NUT, insurance coordinator, and get lab work done. My insurance only requires 3 months NUT visits, and 2 yrs previous morbid obesity diagnoses. I'm praying everything goes smoothly so I can end 2016 on a great note. 12. I'm confused... I have BCBS Federal Basic. One of the requirements is that you have a bmi of 35-39 with comorbity or 40+, u also have to have a history of obesity for the last 2 years. My question is does the bmi have to be over 40 those last 2 years or at least 35. In 2014 and 2015 I have bmi at 35 and 36. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

After reading all the problems others have...

I felt the same way too, but I decided to be proactive. I read the reasons people were getting denied and made sure I crossed my T's and dot my I's. Hopefully, this will help me get an approval faster. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Who to tell

I'm only sharing it with the person that recommended it to me. A very close friend. I kind of hinted to my mom about the surgery, to see how she would react and it was terrible. So when I do have my surgery and start losing weight, ppl will wonder and ask. My response will be, I've changed my eating habits and I workout 6 hrs a day. Since, my friend doesn't live in the area, I plan on using a taxi or uber to get to and from the hospital. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I just received a date to meet the surgeon, nutritionist, nurse, insurance and lab. Has anyone else recently gone thru the process? What is the next step after this visit? Seems like a ton getting taken care of in one visit. They told me to plan on being there at least 3-4 hours. My surgeon will be Dr Jones, anyone seen him? Starting the Journey...

Mistie, I have a few questions. Please help! You waited from May to get an appt in August? I just sent my paperwork in to Dr Cummins office last week. Goodness. I guess I should knock out a few things as well. Where did you get your sleep study done and who was your nutritionist. I'd love to be proactive as well and knock these things out.
