  2. I appreciate all the feed back.  I am really just now considering Contrave, and am wondering if anyone has had any success with it.  Therapy is going well, and I have a great support system at home, I am really just struggling with staying on track and conquering my cravings, which I heard Contrave does. :)

I havn't had a revision but I love the sleeve. I'm only 3 weeks out but its nice not to be hungry. A great tool to help us lose weight. Good luck on your surgery.

  3. Well thank goodness...I thought it was pre-op diet day 8, but it's really 9.  So, today went just ok again.  Will be busy tomorrow so I need to make sure I have stuff handy while I'm out and about.  I've noticed I've been on edge with my kids, hubby, work, and all the posts about genepro, stalls, and stretching the sleeve...doing my best to contain myself.  I know most of it is in my head, cause my body is being sustained with something at least.  Sucks to not eat a regular healthy meal, but hey, it's all for my health and it's temporary. I think I'll take a break tomorrow from logging in...I need to breath.  :)

Ya'll have a blessed night and great day tomorrow!

  4. 5/9 - It was a decent day. I cannot complain. I decided to focus on liquids. Just protein shakes and water. I felt like I needed more water than anything else. Saw the gym at the new building, it is amazing. Personal trainer and all. I will be signing up once I am back from vacation, I will be able to do a lot of workout stuff.

  5. I just watched a video on YouTube of a WLS patient that is 4 years out, had multiple revisions and is kind of a failure at WLS. It reminded me why I don't take diet or health advice from fat people.

  6. Hello everyone,

I'm new here at bariatricpal and am excited to learn from everyone here. I'm on day five of my liquid diet, so far so good; I'm determined to not have any issues on the day of my surgery so, I'm following my doctor's orders.  I'm a little nervous but, so ready to get my VSG surgery done on April 17, 2017! Hope everyone has a blessed day!

  7. Sorry for the delay. So many updates:

4/8 - I had a nervous break down. Got into it with my little brother over Popeyes lol. I know I can't have any but it did not stop me from grabbing him up and saying, "give me some damn chicken, give me some beans, give me some mash potatoes and give me a biscuit" lol my mom had to break it up lol.

Then I gave her the ASPCA sad look and start singing, "In the eyes of an angel, give me Popeyes". I then went into the kitchen and started pulling snacks from the cabinets, screaming and crying "If I cant have this, no one can have it."  My mom endedup calling her friend (she had gotten the sleeve last year) and asked her what was going on. She told my mom that I was having moment and just needed to get the frustration out. Once I was done, my mom told me I was grounded lol. I told her I was grown and she said, "With that behavior, I do not think so." Needless to say, I have not been able to hang out with my friends lol

4/9 - Started eating more protein was able to get in 30 oz of chicken and 55 oz of water. Still cannot go outside to play.

4/10 - Still cannot go outside to play. Drank 64 oz of water, only able to get down 28 oz of protein

4/11 - Went to Applebees and accidentally took a sip out of a straw. No issues except I could not eat. I ended up getting a kids turkey burger with nothing. The waitress had the cook chopped the burger into small pieces. I ended eating less than 1/4 a turkey burger. Damn I was sad.

4/12 - Took all my vitamins on time. Yayy me!!! I am able to eat 2 (7oz) chickens over the course of 6 meals. I also added 2 steamed small pieces of broccoli. Now I am focusing on getting in my water. So far I have gotten in 30 oz.

  9. 2 weeks post op, Strictly on 700-800 calories per day but not a single pound lost in 1 week. Is this normal?

  10. Updates: Sorry I have not posted any updates.

3/26 - Surgery went excellent. I was up and down, out of the bed. Enough energy to laugh and smile and walk around. Everything was awesome. I had a better reaction then everyone in my recovery room. I found out the hard way it was because the good ass drugs they were shooting in my IV.

3/27 - Released from recovery at 7am. I had an excellent recovery. They gave my mom instructions for me and she has been up my ass and around my corner in regards to it. I get released and we go to Home Depot and Target. Her saying is the Surgeon said you have to walk and I am going to make you walk lol. Love you mom. First night home was miserable, could not get comfortable.

3/28 - Took a chair into my shower and sat under the warm running water. BEST IDEA EVER! I do that 3 times a day. Helps soothe the aching. Had my first dumping. Surgeon prescribed pain kills with a cruncher to be mixed and taken like a shot. I have been sipping slowly throughout the day. I tried to take the shot and immediately got sick and puked. I called and told them what happened.

I have a breathing test tube thing and a thermometer to check my temperature 4 times a day to ensure I am not getting a fever or infection.

3/29 - Slept way better and got more comfortable. Will try my protein shakes today. So far I am getting down 5 sips of water every 30 minutes. I have to set reminders because I cannot tell if I am thirsty. When I drink, I get up and walk around after.

So far, just missing those lovely IV drugs. I was on cloud 92 and I miss that feeling but it could be worst.

  11. 5 days post plication op. I've lost another 2 kgs since yesterday, a total of 10kgs (22lbs) in 2.5 weeks including pre op diet period, so excited. I'm at 89 kgs (196lbs) with my goal weight being 70kgs (154lbs) Spoke to my dietitian about soups instead of shakes and she was very helpful. She's happy for me to eat any soup that is thin enough to drink through a straw with no lumps or pieces in it. This has made a huge difference because I seem to have lost my sweet tooth (hope it lasts) and was finding the overly sweet shakes hard going. Pain has subsided now with just the odd stomach twinge now and then. All incisions are looking good and pain free. Feeling very optimistic.

Great Job, I am surprised too how quickly the weight starts coming off during the pre-op phase. Remember to drink your fluids.
