  1. I was sleeved on 4/17, I loss weight before my surgery so I had already thrown out clothes. I have a few drawers of clothes I hadn't worn for YEARS, guess what, today I am throwing all those clothes. I have lost so many inches around my waist and legs everything drops off me. I have a ton of shirts I have purchased over the years that NEVER fit and those are fitting now. I'm going to buy one or two pants at a time to get me through and not look like clown.

Thank you, Happy Mothers Day to you too!

    13 days ago I had a stomach.

Liquids are easier but food, nope! I was sleeved 4/18 and 1/8th of cup satisfies me. If I eat 1/4 I'm too full.
  5. Any day now you will surprise yourself, and realize you just took four sips in a row, and then realize an 8oz protein shake just disappeared in minutes.

    My Hunger Has Returned!!

Are you sure it's not acid. I get what feels like hunger pains and then take Pepcid Complete and it disappears.

Why are post-op diets so different?!

Very similar to mine from Yale, except we are allowed NO CARBS. No starchy vegetables, farina, oatmeal.... I started puree today and managed 1/8th of a cup of low fat cottage cheese.

    Calories at 1-2 weeks post-op

I saw my NUT today and was wondering the same thing. Yes, she said its normal, liquid will go through as soon as swelling goes down.

1 week post op and NO FULL FEELING

I felt the exact same way till today. I was worried, was the sleeve small enough? I had my post op and I have been on liquids for 3 weeks. I can drink water normally and soup takes a bit longer. I can easily finish 8oz of soup for a meal. But, today I started puree, lol. My first meal was 1/8th cup of cottage cheese. I was so full. I am now sitting here 3 hours later finishing my cottage cheese, another 1/8th. Two meals = 1/4 cup of food Its the liquids, they go down easily.
  12. Definitely NOT juice I ordered them months ago and I can't remember where but I have seen them at GNC. These don't taste wonderful but they really help get the protein and liquids in right after surgery and an off day. Its nice to know that if I don't get enough protein in during the day, I can drink this have 40g of protein.

    Married

    So special, congratulations!
  15. I am 3 weeks out too and experienced the stall, but my inches were dropping.... It is really important to eat Protein first, and at this point we really should only have room for protein. Try to get in at least 80gm of protein before eating anything else. My surgeon allows NO CARBS! Hey, we never ate them we were dieting before, right! The suggestions below are the only thing we are suppose to eat during puree. Suggestions: low fat greek yogurt of light greek yogurt, (lemon, vanilla, plain) watch sugar content, low fat cottage cheese- (whipped or small curd) scrambled egg whites, pureed chicken, turkey, tuna fish, salmon or canned chicken ( add fat free mayo or greek yogurt to make easy to digest, fat free of skim ricotta cheese-add tomato sauce or sweeten with cinnamon and splenda), low fat hummus, pureed black beans or fat free refried beans, laughing cow light cheese wedges. If you eat these, even with a 1/2 cup three times a day, I think you will be fine. I also agree are you taking an anti-acid. If I forget I know because I feel hungry, but its not hunger, its acid. Pepcid complete is what I take twice a day.

16 Weeks Post Op - NSV

I was wondering about that just the other day. I still brush as much, but seriously, how much do we eat? Nice to have another benefit!
  17. I wish I had known how how easy the surgery and recovery would be for me! I was so scared and nervous.

    5 days post-op with a fever

Call your surgeon's office again if you do not hear from them. I hope everything is ok?
  19. I believe this will go away. When you start feeling regretful, deny yourself these thoughts! Think of all the positive that will occur from this surgery. If this continues please make an appointment with a therapist. Many bariatric patients work with therapists before and after surgery. Good Luck!

Have you gone to the bathroom yet?
  21. Would you mind doing a typical day for us newbies. I'm really curious. Thank you

    Food options

My NUT and surgeon both stress low carb! No bread, rice, cereal, oatmeal, starchy vegetables. Protein, protein and more protein.
  23. Also, bring loose pajama pants to wear with your hospital gown while you walk, walk and walk. Great list.
  24. Mine is 81, I'm 56, right next to me and my husband, lol, nothing would have kept her away.
  25. I had my sleeve 4/18 and came home with out blood pressure medication. I still can't believe it, I so didn't believe it I went to my internist today for a bp check and it was perfect. I knew that diabetics often didn't need meds after weight loss surgery but I was really surprised about blood pressure being affected too. Have other of you gone home with your blood pressure no longer an issue?
