  1. Hiatal hernias are caused when a section of the stomach is pushed through the opening where the esophagus comes down through the diaphragm. They have to bring that section back down and close the enlarged opening. I had bad acid reflux prior to my sleeve but nothing since. Fixed my acid reflux. 2. My doctor said weight loss could be slower when you have hypothyroidism and are post menopausal. You will lose weight but not as fast. Just be patient with yourself Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  3. I had a hiatal Hernia and it was fixed at the time of my sleeve in December. No acid reflex Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  4. Medicare and my supplement insurance paid for my sleeve here in Nebraska. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  5. I am going to be 67 on July 4th. I had surgery on 12/30/15. I have lost 60 lbs. Weight loss has been slow due to having hypothyroidism. I am walking more, yesterday 2.5 miles. Six months ago couldn't have walked a quarter of a block. I am so glad I had the surgery. I figure I didn't put it on in a year, just glad for loss I have had.
