  1. I was so out of it the day of surgery. I didn't even look at my phone until the next day. Brought my iPad too, and it stayed in the bag lol. I was so tired. My family had to call the nurse phone to get me to answer. I couldn't help it. When they came the day after surgery, I kept sleeping on them. Day 3 I felt so much better but sill exhausted.

  2. So I used the fat free Lactaid milk, ice, scoop of Protein powder and a packet of lemon Crystal Lite and blended it. Tastes like a lemon cream Popsicle lol. Trying to get this Protein in without being able to eat Gotta get creative. I'll be three weeks post op next Friday and I'll be taking my granddaughter to Disney World for a week. Need to have strength.

Any suggestions for those on full liquid to increase protein?

As part of my post op, I did Clear Liquids for two weeks. Now I'm on full liquids for two weeks. I'm not counting calories or Protein.

I'm allowed to have this carnation Breakfast, skim, fat free or 1%milk, sugar free/ low fat pudding, strained low fat Soups, no sugar added low fat yogurt, sugar free Popsicles, sugar free Jello. thinned grits, oatmeal and cream of rice and wheat, in addition to the broth and other stuff from the clear liquid diet.

I am allowed to add Protein Powder to my milk and I know it's ok to add it to yogurt.

I don't necessarily call it a Protein shake tho lol. It's just adding a scoop of Protein Powder to get in more Protein.

So I don't feel like I'm not in compliance. Just happened to add it to this carnation meal of that makes sense lol.

I sip Water all day and can eat some Soup, sugar free Jello and sugar free Popsicles the rest of the day. Trying to get in more protein where I can add it and have it be bearable to eat too.

  4. I don't regret my sleeve. It IS the best gift I have given myself... at first it was difficult. and it was no easy thing trying to get through about the first two weeks... after that eating soft foods like Beans and yogurt... and I did great..... But making major changes in life are always hard. But where I am now is not quite where I want to be weight wise... and I am in a stall which sucks... However I am half the size I was... People no longer look at me funny.. I am back to eating normal foods for awhile now. Its not easy at the beginning.... May I suggest for those struggling with liquids you try sugar free gatoraide... at first I had a lot of trouble tolerating Water and still do sometimes... It IS WORTH IT! I swear to you... for those with nausea... have you let the doc know? they do have medications to help reduce the amount of nausea you have to go through. I was lucky had had little to know nausea... So take the colace or stool softener.... as soon as doc says so... it makes all the difference

I'm not struggling with liquids, but I want to try the Gatorade. Thanks for the suggestion.

  5. Hmm. I'm two weeks out today and I've lost 22 lbs per my surgeon at my post op appt today. That would be discouraging to me also. I wonder if there is anyone else who has experienced what you're going through.

Are you on Clear liquids? What are your days like? Have you spoken to your surgeon about your concern?
