curlysue86 got a reaction from QueenBx in Warning eat your protein/vitamins!!!!! 8mths post op Gastric bypass
I would like to go ahead and let you know before you read the information below at this moment I am still feeling very sick but I wanted to share this information to see if anyone has experienced this or has any advice to help me!!! I really hope The information I provided makes sense about what I'm trying to say please excuse my writing and grammar. I just need to put this information out as quickly as I can to see if anyone knows anything about what is happening to me.... :-,(
I'm eight months post op!! Everything has been going pretty well until recently, I forget to take my Protein daily and Vitamins daily... I noticed that I can eat more now.... if I wanted to, than I could mths ago. And when I'm swallowing foods and liquids they go down a lot easier now, less restriction but I still have restrictions especially if I eat meat. During my current eight months I have not felt as hungry... with everything going on in my busy personal life and busy work life. I'm not taking my daily vitamins like I did in the beginning of my surgery and I have not had my Protein shakes like I usually would the in the beginning of my surgery. My liquid intake is very low now...I forget to eat and drink now...I don't know how or why but for some reason in my eight months post op gastric bypass, I feel like, I'm use to my new stomach and it doesn't feel so different anymore... so I haven't stayed aware or too concerned with my protein and vitamins and liquids I'm getting in during a day. Example: it's 3 PM and I haven't had Breakfast or lunch and maybe have had a little bit of Water and coffee. This example is what has been going on during my 8 months currently.
This was a big big big mistake!!!!!! The worst thing I could of possibly done to myself... I have had small signs from my body most recently, feeling weak my face looking like a dried-up raisin, my lips being super dry and super dry mouth, especially my tongue and my urine being super strong. Today, all of this caught up to me and I'm currently trying to recover from being so sick hours ago... I have never Felt like this before my body felt like it was shutting down, my vision was blurred I felt fatigue..my heart was racing.. I was dry heaving over and over. And the worst part about it was I couldn't just drink a lot of liquids at one time to help me with my dehydration or eat something to make my stomach feel better, I have to drink slowly and eat slowly because I had gastric bypass. This was a major problem, because I was dry heaving my body was rejecting sips of liquid. I'm malnourished from not having vitamins and I'm dehydrated, I'm pretty sure my body reacted this way because it was not getting what in what I needed-in order to produce energy and function...this is the result of my poor decisions this month..and it all caught up to me today! Forgetting to eat, drink liquids and making sure I have had my protein and vitamins. I was definitely reminded by my body's reaction today. . Saying to myself during my current 8mth post op gastric bypass..."I've done so good since my surgery and everything is good now I have lost the weight so I'm not going to be that concerned with my vitamins as much and nevermind needing protein...Im in my 8mths and I think I'm all good now" ---- I was very wrong thinking this, and suffered from it today and I'm still not well.
Hopefully, I will feel a lot better tomorrow.....to at least go to the store and buy my Protein Shakes and get my life back in order with drinking my liquid taking my vitamins. And remembering I had gastric bypass and I need to take extra care of myself and be aware of my daily intakes.
Thank you for taking the time to read my current confusion of writing skills LOL I just needed to put this out there as quick as possible and do not have the energy to proofread it to make sure this makes sense thank you so much please respond , if you have had this experience

Thank your the tips!! I'm on solid foods now, but I keep going back to puréed stage, due to getting food stuck and feeling so full with solid foods. Don't feel I'm ready for solids foods, yet.

curlysue86 got a reaction from NIKKI BABY in WLS is life changing ! & very hard
I had my surgery 7-15-2016 , exactly 1 mth ago and it's very hard and life changing. I wonder everyday what did I just do.. ? To myself. It's very hard and nothing easy about it. Your food choices change and it's very emotional. Restaurants you can forget them for now. I do follow the food plan, I am very strict and careful on what I am eating. If you get somethings stuck one time you will never try to do that again.. It's hard. I do see weight loss.. I have lost 30pounds in 1 mth since surgery. I am 8 pounds from under 200 pounds.. Can't wait for that. But it's been hard. I just wish everyone luck on there journey if your just starting. It does get better, everyday. But it's still hard and emotional. Good luck!

curlysue86 got a reaction from BBweightlossjourney in Feeling Great!
It's been 2 weeks, and I finally have my energy levels back. I had my first full day back and work with problems. I pack my lunch box in the morning before work, that way I have supplies all day at work. And don't eat or drink the wrong thing.
Thank you, to everybody for all the great comments and advice. Things did get better for me.. 2 weeks today and I'm way better than the first week. I'm very strict on my eating and I don't over eat or eat what I shouldn't. Can't wait for the weight to start melting off...

curlysue86 got a reaction from Daisee68 in Finally! Starting to feel Normal again!
Finally, feeling normal again. I can't eat much but I'm eating a lot of different things now.. I'm 2 weeks post op. And my energy is pretty much back.. Almost. I tried pimento cheese on wheat thins, went down good. And then watermelon I have tried, it went down good as well. I'm feeling good!!! 18pounds down since my surgery day 6/15. I'm still at the same weight last couple of days 220 weigh.
Hoping next couple of days I lose more. I do feel restriction in my tummy, which is great .. It tells me when I'm full. I'm still eating very small amounts. But I'm trying different things.. Compared to the liquid diet and purée food stage.

Thank you! Everybody for all the great tips!! This really helps me. I have to admit, I'm not drinking enough Water.. It's so hard to get it all down. I never was a Water drinker. But I am going to try this again tonight and sip sip sip on water and all day tomorrow too. I'm day 9 and I actually can say it's better than day 7. I feel better. But still have major migraines..it could be coming from the lack of water. How does everyone do there vitamin's? Do y'all use the chewies?? Or powder or liquids.
Thank you, to everyone for all your tips .. It's been a great tool for me things are getting better.
PS. But miss Chick-fil-A hopefully down the road I'll be able to have a small portion of nuggets eventually. For a special treat.
