Hey Kaze I am checking back in after a hiatus. I finally got an appt for surgery. It will be January 4th. How are you doing and is your kidney still doing well?

Lynda I have had an organ transplant and will be on prednisone amongst other things forever. According to my surgeon, he thinks the best option is the sleeve and believes there will be less contraindications with the sleeve/steroid combo

I'm only telling my husband and if I didn't need a driver to and from the hospital, I wouldn't have told him. He is cool with me having the surgery (sleeve). This is a very personal mission to me and there's only room for one person in the saddle.

Hi lynda1945! I was on the fence also, I am not diabetic but do have to take maintenance meds for life that kinda made the decision for me. I will be having the sleeve. I wish you good luck and look forward to a new year and new life.

I am glad I saw this post. I have no problem with switching to Decaf it's the question about the sugar free creamer that I was also wondering about. Good luck to you. I start my pre op diet on Wednesday.

Thanks everybody. I am setting out next week to get everything that I can think I will need for post surgery. I will be adding an agenda to my list. I like that idea and I can write goals in it.

I have enjoyed ready so many of the post regarding all of the successes. I got my surgery date today (Jan 4) and am reaching out to see if anyone could recommend something/anything that they think would aid in my success. It could be anything from an app to a food or a favorite clothing line.

Kaze- I found your post when I looked up key words kidney failure. My transplant Doctor ( I'm 2 years post transplant) actually is the one that got me started down this path. I've gained about 60 pounds since my transplant. I'm still in the pre op stage, as the bariatric program I am in is so slow. Thank you for sharing your story and I wish you the best!

I have been in the process of getting scheduled for surgery ( it's been a long one) with Dr. Sanborn. I've met him once and he seemed so down to earth.Dr. Chris Sanborn did my surgery. I love him!

I'm around Chattanooga and Dalton. Where did you have your surgery? I am still pre op.May 31st is the big day for me, too. I'm on day 2 of the liver diet & have my pre op appointment with my doctor tomorrow. Anybody near Chattanooga, TN or Dalton, GA?

I am not using him, I am using a doctor at Erlanger, but, I did work at Memorial for a while and know of several people that used him and really liked him and had good results.
