  1. My wls was 7/6/16. I lost the most during the six month pre op stage. Started at 269. Day of surgery weighed 232 and today 189. It's been MONTHS since I have lost anything. I blame no one but me. I have ate all the wrong things and not exercised. I still can't eat much but when I eat sometimes I don't eat what I should. I still drink all my Water. I am thankful I haven't gained, but what a failure I feel for not doing all I can do to get this weight off and I am coming up on the one year Anniversary soon. How do I get the motivation back? I am still considered obese on my bmi. I have been taking off my blood pressure meds and sleep apnea machine. I really just want to get down to 165. That's not probably where I should be according to my chart, but I think for my age (46) and height 5'4 that is a good realistic number for me. Any suggestions to get motivated?

  2. Wow...what a journey! I remember the dreaded 6 months pre-op and now I am 6 months post-op!
Started at 260 and am now 175. Down 85lbs. About another 30 or so to go! So weird to be only 30lbs away from the end goal. Never in my life....20170327_111918.thumb.jpg.2788287d8b9ca2a7e44b89efd2ce7e47.jpg

Oh my goodness you are doing amazing. Way to go. Can I ask what your normal day looks like with food/drink and exercise if any and how much? I had surgery 7/6/16 269 and am just now at 189. [emoji20]

  3. I do keep track of what I eat, exercise every day and drink 96 oz of Water. Lots of Protein, no bread, no potato, no Cereal, no sugar lots of veggies, yogurt is the only dairy except a little cheese once in awhile. It's worth it all to me. This for me was a start but I have to stay focused on my new lifestyle. Never was overweight until around 45 years of age. Now I have more energy, happier, can look good in my clothes again. Hang in there, do this for YOU. It gets easier I promise.

Do you use a journal to log it in or an app? What app works best for you if so? Thank you for your words. I have to get focused again.

  4. I'm only 8.5 months out but I have already stopped following the right path and gone back to overeating and eating slider foods.
Thanks for sharing your stories because it brings to light the struggles that we face and if we don't nip them in the bud they continue to persist.

I was sleeved 7/6/16 and you sound like me. I haven't lost in months. I know it's because I quit walking. And I have never tracked (by writing it down or using any apps) my daily food intake. Do you do that? I have been eating foods I KNOW I shouldn't. It has to stop. I am no where near goal.
    HW: 269
    CW: 191
Would like to be in the 150 range.

  5. You can't stretch your pouch. I was sleeved on 7/15/2015 and my restriction has been the same since the 1 year mark.

Eat dense  Protein only. Steak.  chicken breast. Pork chops. Cod. Salmon. Dense Protein.< /p>

Do not fad diet with these pouch resets and other nonsense.  liquids go right through a sleeve and you will still be hungry. 4 ounces of dense protein will have you full for a couple hours, your stomach has to work harder to process it a day move it to the intestines.

DO NOT FAD DIET. If you can't live off liquids for the rest of your life it is just a fad diet. Dense protein is what we are supposed to be eating for the rest of our lives and if people ate dense protein the whole time instead of sliders, carbs and other junk  food, they wouldn't be in the position of regaining.

I have read that you can overeat and stretch the pouch (new stomach they call it). I think sometimes because I'm not eating right I miss my full signals. Thank you for the protein tips.

  6. I was sleeved 7/6/16. Prior to surgery and since my total weight loss is 78 lbs. haven't lost anything in months though. Haven't gained YET! But I can eat more and more. I have been eating junk!!!!! I'm so depressed with myself. At 191 lbs and still have many more pounds to go!!!! Do you think it's too late? Have I stretched my pouch too much to come back?

  7. Started the 6 month on 1/14/16 at 268.9 Surgery was 7/6/16 at 232.4 Since surgery lost 36.2 lbs at 196.2. It is so slow that there is almost no change week to week. What are some of the things you all are doing daily that IS working for you? Like how much exercise do you do each day, how long, how many days a week etc. what are your daily meals like? For example: Snacks, lunch dinner etc. are you weighing everything?

Thank you in advance for any suggestions and meal samples and such.

  9. I'm only 5 weeks out and have only lost 17 since surgery day. I have been the same weight for about two weeks now or more. I know I don't get in enough Water or Protein. It takes all I have to get in what I do. Idk what to do. But I did start measuring almost two weeks ago. My next measure day is this coming up Sunday. If I have lost in measurements then I guess I will simmer down on the worry.

  10. Y'all are doing amazing.

HW at start of 6 month supervised diet 1/14/16 268.9

    Pre op diet start 246.8

Day of surgery 7/6/16 sleeved 232.4

    CW: 216.4

It has been slow. At times I feel it isn't working. I know I don't get enough Water or Protein in. It is hard to think of what to eat (picky or sounds good) and then I think I eat too fast.

  11. Surgery was 7/6 for me. One week ago today. I have only lost 6.4. That is a loss but I assumed it would be much more. Idk if it's because I can't get in much fluids much less any Proteins. Since I have been home I have had a couple of loose bowel movements but today has been the worst. I have tried and tried to have a normal one and it's killing me cause it's there but ya know. Sorry. I'm wondering if I need to do a suppository UGH

  12. I get really confused on these so called "full" feelings. I don't get them anymore drinking. With small sips or big sips. Which scares me. When I eat my sf Popsicles at 15 calories each they go down really well and don't make me feel full. But anytime I try to "eat" my liquified Soup (4 tbsp) day with the bariatric app to take 20 sec for each bite (swish since liquid) it still sits at the top of my belly. I guess that is the full feeling.
