I have just started this journey as well. I am using Dr. Paul Macik at Northside. He seems to be very good from the research I did on him. I'm not sure if he is on your insurance or not. I am going for my 1 month supervised weight loss visit on July 7th.

I am very curious to this as well. I have had a hypoactive thyroid since I was 7 and was diagnosed with PCOS in 2014. My surgery is coming up on June 30th and my greatest fear is any weight gain after the initial weight loss starts to balance out.

Hi everyone! I am new to all of this (Just starting out with all of the appts and all to get ready for surgery.

I was just wondering if anyone has a problem with both pcos and hypothyroidism and how the symptoms of both of them together have done after surgery.

I'm hardly ever on here anymore, but this post caught my eye today. I live in Athens, and was sleeved by Dr. Paul Macik at Northside. He was really good, and his office staff is great. I'm 3 years out this month. Because of the distance, I didn't go to the support groups at the hospital regularly, but I did join several WLS groups on FB, in addition to being here. Good luck to each of y'all!!

I am new on here and just went and saw Dr. Macik on Monday. It is good to hear others that have been to him and had great results!

I started my process in January. Humana required 4months of visits with doctor, nutritionist, and psychological exam. Was approved by May and schedule date is July 1st for gastric sleeve.

I just saw my dr for the first time on Monday. I also have Humana. Do you mind me asking how long it took to get your pre-approval for surgery after you completed all of your appointments and sent in all of your paperwork?
