  10. So I'm on day 2 of being banded. Yesterday was gas pains from the surgery. Today my port site is hurtin so bad! I guess that's the tissue wrapping/scarring around it? I can't get up from a chair without looking stupid because it hurts so bad lol, I have to turn funny ways to get up! Can't bend over for nothing...Did you guys have port pain and if so how long does it last?

  13. So my surgery is scheduled for 6:30 this morning , April 22nd. It's midnight and I still can't sleep! My brain is on overdrive thinking about how my "new" banded life is going to be. I've waited such a long time to do this. I know 'm ready. I'm ready for the new me Even still I can't help but think what if? What if it doesn't work? I think of all the other countless things I've tried and failed at...I don't want to be a failure again..I want to be happy with mysef, proud of myself..I want my husband to be proud..I want my kids to not point out the Jenny Craig commercials when they come on lol! I'm turning 30 in July and I'm so ready to LIVE!! So here's to a new beginning....

  17. So I go in to have my EGD done today and the surgeon comes in and says he can't do my surgery because Im pregnant. Needless to say, it wasn't something we had planned, but I am happy to be having another child I am also a little bummed to be not having surgery next week. I've waited so long to do this for myself. Anybody gone thru this before? Did you have the surgery after the baby was born? What about any losing weight while pregnant, any good (healthy) diet ideas? Thanks
  18. May 27th here too! My dr. has me on a low carb diet until the surgery. Good luck to everyone! I can't wait to begin living!
  19. My first attemp with insurance was denied but I appealed and WON! Surgery date is May 27th  I"m really excited but have already started my "last dinner" moments. I'm ready for a lifestyle change and to lose all this weight.
  20. I was denied for surgery due to having my BMI dip below 35 for 2 out of 5 years. My next step is to file a member grievance which I guess is like an appeal. I'm just not sure where to start. I've had my obgyn write me up a letter that I'll send with the appeal I write. I welcome any and all ideas!! Thanks!!
  21. Does Dr. Swain have a website? I googled him and didn't really see one. Does he practice out of the hospital or have his own office??
  22. What are the Biggest Loser workouts? What all do you do?
  23. Okay...so there has to be some really great exercises out there for getting rid of my "spare tire". It's already gone down a bit by losing a little weight and I know it will continue but I want to work on that troublesome spot so the skin doesn't stay loose. Any ideas? I've had two babies, one was a c=section and that's where my roll is, right above my incision of the c section. I know there's the good ol' crunches and sit ups but I'm looking for any other ideas to swap up with. Thanks for any input!:w00t:
