  1. I work 7p-7a 4 days a week. I start back this week. But I always keep my Vitamins and meds with me. I try to wake up early enough to walk around 2 blocks near my house. Then I help my son with homework and take him to practice. I eat when I get up and then again when I'm hungry. I try to pack 4-5 small things so I can have variety but don't over eat. I Really like the tuna & salon sealed foil packs. Then if I have time in the am when I get off I either go swimming or work out. I also keep a refillable Water bottle cause we have and ice/water machine at work. Good luck

  2. I find for dinners it's easier to buy chicken in bulk and then divide it out in to how many I need for each meal, I also buy tons of frozen veggies. I then bake the chicken and steam the veggies.

I also buy big packs of 97% lean ham or turkey sandwich meat and section those out in 4oz portions with 4oz of a block of cheese. For Breakfast I like boiled eggs and turkey sausage. The lower ur carbs the faster ull lose weight. After 3-5 days of under 20g of carbs ur body will go into ketosis and will use ur body fat for fuel. Hell at this point if you can do that you may not even have to exercise. If you get a hankering for something else find you a low carb Protein Shake, maybe something that taste sweet to give you a nice change in flavor.

How many boiled eggs do you have in the morning? I Like that idea.

  4. @@Kyn13 sounds like you have it handled well on your end. Nurses take the brunt of a lot and it also impact their quality and dedication when treated poorly. We all suffer. I hope for the best for your recovery and return.

It is very good advice to everyone to be careful with Fmla as does not always apply to you/your employer, not to mention your state employment issues! If anyone planning far out and have opportunity it is a good time to consider short term disability coverage if you can!

Yeah I have been debating on doing the std, but it's only 40% of my income and doesn't kick in till day 15 of leave, so I've been wondering if it's worth it for one partial paycheck to deal with all the paperwork.

  5. Yeah unfortunately it's best I take the full 4 wks the dr tried to give me 6 :( but with as much and as often as I lift and I don't always get my shifts in the monitor room so I can be on the floor as much as she needs. Or with us being short we are all picking up extra shifts me included. We have a girl on days and she only took two weeks but said she wished she had listened to the dr and took the 4. So I think I'm just gonna play it safe and do that. Cause on nights the higher ups refuse to let us run two cnas no matter what the pt load looks like. My unit is a 19 bed unit and we could be full and they won't run 2 cnas. So with as many total cares that ends up on our unit I'd be doing it all alone.

  6. We are understaffed, there are only 3 ppl on nights who can do my job including me. But she has known I was doing this for just over a month and had the time to train someone new to fill in for me and hasn't taken the time to do it. TN is also a right to work state so I'm ready for the back lash of having this done if it comes to that. Thankfully this is not our families only income, my hubby works and that would do fine until I got a new job, there are also tons of factories and other dr offices I could apply at. I would really just like it to not come to that. I went in an hr early today to help her fill the shifts I need off for our current schedule, hoping that if I show her I'm trying to help fix the problem it will look good in my favor. I will be out for 4 weeks starting 8.21. The only down side to all of this is I could go back technically after a week if they would give me light duty, cause two of my three shifts a week are in the heart monitor room which is just a ton of paper work and watching rythms. But because this is an elective procedure hr won't let me come back till I can lift all my heavy pts. :( would save alot of ppl heartache if they would give me light duty tho.

  8. The only thing I can suggest is maybe find a place you can work out in a pool. We have a place near me that has treadmills and a bunch of other stuff in the pools to allow people who have a hard time working out on land to get the same advantage. Even if no equipment maybe just swimming or Water arrobics? I hope you are able to find the answers you are looking for

  9. So I haven't really hid it from those I'm close with in my personal life. But only with those I'm close with which is maybe 7 ppl. And I live with 2 of them lol. But one of my best friends a girl I'd drop anything if she needed she told me that very same thing, and to be honest I haven't said more than 5 words to her at any one time since. And it's not that I love her any less, it's just this is hard enough and I'm stressed beyond anything helpful and I don't need the disappointment of my best friend not even being able to be happy for me.

Being fat is killing me, and I feel like a disgusting blob. I've been like this for a long time, but not my whole life I can remember a time when I would run 3 miles a day. And wasn't considered plus size. I've tried countless times on my own and never really been able to put a dent in my weight. So honestly if this is the easy way out fuck it!!!! I'm tired of being miserable and fighting so hard everyday to just do the basics each day. When your weight gets to the point where u can't take care of ur self the way u should, who the fuck cares what anyone has against it. Agree to disagree and move on eventually if they truly love you they will still be there in the end. At least that's what I'm hoping for good luck hope he comes around some time soon !!!!

  10. So around the july 25th?ish I made a point to talk to my boss and give her a heads up since I had just met with my surgeon. Being I work in a hospital on a very busy floor I have been wanting to give as much notice as possible so we can find a stand in for my shifts. Well my next appointment is set for sept 1st but the insurance company called this past Tuesday saying I had been approved, which was weeks faster then we had planned. Also the dr told me I had to lose 15 lbs, and so far I've dropped 12. So I will be calling my surgeon to get an appointment in the next few days to move this along quicker. So this is all moving much faster then I had planned. I tried to explain that to my boss and instead of looking at a 3rd week n sept date I looking at a last week of Aug date. Our schedule are put out for 28 days at a time which means I will still work all but 1 week of this next schedule. Anyway it didn't go over very well and she got about half way through the statement of "well I can't guarantee your job". I'm more then a little worried about losing said job but I have no protection under fmla since I've only been with my hospital 7 months. But it more then a little irritates mr becuase when i first told her about this she aaid she would do whatever we needed because this was important. At the same time I don't think I can put this off again, this is the second time I've had to do all this I'm ready to be on the other side of it. Ugh just really frustrated... I don't want to lose my job but I can't wait another month I've been on a modified liquid diet for 2 weeks already :(

Oh my goodness our situations are too similar. I just finished my six month supervised weight loss and attended my final review with surgeon and nurse coordinator. Unbeknownst to me my insurance from my job (hospital) that I started this year in April just kicked in. So the day after my final review the nurse coordinator called and said that my work insurance is now my primary insurance (previously it was the insurance through my mom) and my work's insurance has different guidelines for approval. One being that I only had to do 3 months instead of 6(what my mom's insurance required). That didn't upset me too much, but what did is that I now have to weigh 20% less than I did at my initial consult. Now everything is stalled until I loose 5 more pounds.

The unit I work on isn't too busy but it is fairly new so we don't have a lot of staff. I've been keeping my manager updated as much as I can but I'm so pissed off. I am hoping to get a surgery date before the new schedules are posted. I was not anticipating this road block in my life right now. I'm currently applying to nursing school and now I have the pressure to loose 5 pounds ASAP.

I was supposed to be done after my final review. I just feel so discouraged I don't know what to do. I've been drinking broth and Protein shakes trying to loose weight as fast as I can. Working full time AND preparing for nursing school really has me wanting to dig into some carbs but I can't.

Omg we are like twins lol I know it's soooo hard to miss the carbs. But no lie I've been on my no carb kick for 12 days and lost 12 lbs, now I'm not gonna lie I've cheated and I hated my self for it but I've tried to not let it throw me Completely off. I drink 3-4 Protein Shakes a day and then once a day I each either chicken or beef with cheese on it lol ( read mcdonald's burger or grilled chicken) I know way pathetic lol however we will get through this!!! I've got 3 lbs and I'm making an appointment with my Dr any way I don't want to wait till the sept 1st appointment. 4 days a week which are my days off I try to spend swimming since walking and running are too hard on my body. What is the carb content in ur shakes? What about in ur daily in take? I've been trying to keep mine under 20g a day. But I'm also getting 100-170g of Protein a day as well. Honestly I have no idea why it's working but it is. But I also don't go over 1800 calories a day, like it's set as my daily limit in my food tracker app if I got ever it's not by much but the last week I don't believe I've gotten close to it. The only down side is I weigh myself when I wake up and I do it nakie and I'm pretty sure my surgeons office wouldn't like it very much if I tried to strip before I let them weight me.... so here's to hoping taking off my shoes will be enough lol you should message me if you feel like keeping in touch :) good luck keep me posted
