  1. I could just cry! I rec'd word today that our insurance does not cover ANY bariatric surgeries. :) I talked to the head of our personel dept and she stated that we are a fully funded group (union and negotiated terms of insurance) If we were an idividually funded group, there would be a possibility of exceptions to the denial. Has anyone ever dealt with a full funded insurance plan before and how did you get them to approve your banding? I have BC/BS -Anthem (Wisconsin) We have new insurace since AUgust and our old insurance covered the surgery 100% but now they won't cover a dime!! Any suggestions??:glare:

  2. My best friend keeps telling me to just try and loose weight with my own determination. She lost 80+ pounds over the past two years but she has several illnesses and sees doctors weekly. She can't eat due to pain. How can I convince her that I want to loose weight but I am not able to on diets. I have tried 9 different approaches, only to gain more weight back! I just need the support to go ahead with this life changing process... please help!

  3. I gather that it is an individual process of what is tolerated and what is not. I come from Wisconsin and brats are to me as rice is to the south. As long as a bite is acceptable to me, I guess I am content with that

  4. I made the first appt for the consult for banding. This was a HUGE step for me as I was always so ashamed of my weight and not being able to control it. I have my first apt on March 7.....can't wait but still scared to death too. The first half of my life I have been heavy....so here's to my second half of my life!!:)
