  1. I had a stricture; similar intolerance to foods; nausea; etc. Went to my doc who had me do a barium swallow and determined it was a stricture. I went in for scope to dilate esophagus and am now totally fine. Simplest procedure I've ever had.
  2. Thanks for the encouragement!

    What are yall eating

I found out I have a stricture. They will dilate my esophagus to make it easier for me to swallow and not get food stuck. Once that happens I for sure will try some of what you suggested.
  4. I know; I hate the hardcore aspect of it. However, I found out I have a stricture and that's why I cannot eat anything. They are going to dilate my esophagus to make it easier for me to swallow better. Here's to hoping.
  5. That makes me so much happier knowing that it may resolve. God, it's bad right now. I feel so much relief and hope for that. Thank you.
  6. Hi everyone, I am 3 weeks and 1 day post op gastric bypass RNY. I have noticed that in the past several days (roughly a week) I cannot consume anything without feeling horrible. I feel like things are stuck. It doesn't matter if it is less than 1 ounce of food. I get tons of thick saliva in my mouth and I am a prisoner to that feeling until it passes maybe 20 minutes later. I have no appetite and I can't even think about eating. I finally called my surgeon and the nurse is almost positive it's a stricture and will need a second procedure to expand my esophagus. Has anyone had experienced with a stricture. I believe it will be an endoscopic procedure with balloon dilation. The RN said just stay hydrated until the procedure. If I cannot eat, not a problem. She doesn't want me vomiting or making it worse. I don't know what went wrong; I followed the diet to a tee and lost 35lbs. I guess these complications just happen. Just want advice. Thanks for listening!
  7. I was given my diet post op and it is pretty restrictive. I am three weeks out and I am allowed up to 3 meals a day, at a max of 4 oz of Protein per meal. I can also have a half cup of non starchy veggies. Also, all the sugar free, non carbonated beverages I can handle. I can't have fruit until week 8 and yogurt and milk for 6 months. Carbs are not allowed until 75% of excess weight is gone. Here is my problem, I cannot eat to save my life. I have no appetite and can only handle soft, or liquids. I could just not eat. I tell myself that is bad and I force myself to eat an ounce or two here and there. I see others mentioning applesauce, milk, yogurt, etc. and I WISH I had that option. I feel like at least then I could get something in that is kinda a solid. I think I drink 64 oz but protein intake is way under 60 grams. Any advice? Also, pills are equally as hard to take. Any tips? I feel WAY overwhelmed.

    What are yall eating

I can eat sashimi (only raw fish) bc it's light and easy to go down. Almost all foods are hard for me to eat right now. I feel like is can live on sugar free Popsicles alone. I am only about 3 weeks out, so I hope this gets easier. I have zero appetite and feel weak. I drink water all day to stay hydrated but it is so hard to get food in, right now. Any advice?
