Please Read: Keep BariatricPal a Safe Place
It is a shame this thread was started because I think it escalated bad feelings, oversensitivity, and a discussion about discussions. It is like a meeting about meetings. As a newbie, I love the vets -- @@LipstickLady, inner surfer girl OKC Pirate --everyone have been amazing to read and follow. I can't imagine staying on a forum that takes such a bizarre stance on disagreements. And, a forum without @@LipstickLady ? Hard to imagine. Everyone here is above age 18, and they are free to read, ignore, or respond. As a VERY newbie (6 weeks post-op) I am not offended by someone wishing to have a thread or discussion with vets only. Frankly, I cannot imagine the stamina, patience, and charity involved in reading the same questions over and over for a year+ --as after less than 2 months, I am (sometimes) like "USE THE SEARCH". But, I know I have asked stupid questions, and will continue to ask stupid questions. I hope to be able to provide perspective on my journey if ever helpful. Just as the June sleevers (and other months) have started forums, why shouldn't the vets have the same opportunity to congregate with those in the same place openly? @@Alex Brecher

Sleeve soon!
I left them with my husband and then just had my small "overnight bag" with everything including my phone and ID. he held on to that until I got out of surgery. I did not keep a wallet on me, not like I was heading down to cafe! haha I kept my bag on small table by my bed - had my clothes, toiletries and phone there. My husband tried to come back to hang out, but I really didn't want or need anyone in room, in and our of sleep, going to bathroom constantly. For me, I just wanted to focus on getting out of there!

acid reflux problems...worried
My surgeon switched me from Prilosec to prescription Prevacid post-op. Nurse told me it is because studies suggesting it has better profile for success during healing period. I am on it for 6 months. My gerd was not terrible but I did have some minor, what is it called acid damage? Post op. I feel it if I forget (only happened twice took it late).

For about a week.

Was wondering if everyone that has done the sleeve
I did not. I was worried because anesthesiologist asked about when I had Egd. I don't wake up in night or have problems sleeping. I don't know if deviated septum surgery from years ago played into them believing that I can breathe fine. But I told them my preference would be to avoid one as I hardly want to give up precious, comfortable sleep to sleep study. Plus I met surgery criteria without it. I think it is one thing used to help with insurance but it can factor in to your ability to cope with anathesia. I would ask as better to get over with asap if needed as it seemed time consuming.

Peanut butter
In "soft food" I can now add PB2 powder (loveloveloveit) to my shakes and I can have creamy PB for a "meal" I get some that is no sugar/salt added. So, for my diet, from my nut Peanut Butter is ok.

Injection marks
I had to stop my injections because of bleeding issues. But, I too was doing stomach per instructions. Was told might bruise but did not. Did them 2x day for a week.

Soft food stage problem
You know I am not really have the problems, I was just sharing that i can feel bad (happened maybe twice) if i eat too fast or too big of bite. @@JamieLogical I thought your question was coming from @triplethreat Need to read closer, forgive me I ate lunch late today!

Alcohol pre op?
My mistake. I would agree, but you can always ask if you are concerned!

Soft food stage problem
I am at 2oz at each meal, and I measure.

Soft food stage problem
I have had this happen, I agree it may be size of bites or overall amount affecting you. I am a 30/30 liquid taboo around meals, maybe that would help?
-
Alcohol pre op?
I would think your liquid diet has an implied understanding that it is all you are consuming. I was afraid of liver issues and stopped drinking months in advance of pre-op. Everyone is individual and maybe your nut will say it is no big deal based on your situation. I would ask them.

Sleeve soon!
I took moisturizer. I wear makeup and like makeup. I can't imaging having worn it in hospital even if I had been there 5 days. I brought a lot of stuff with me, most of which I didn't use, I appreciated having a dry spray conditioner, various lip glosses and moisturizer. You should do what you think is helpful but between trying to feel comfortable and having weird sleeping patterns I would not want to fall asleep in full makeup or put it on. My essential was my sleeping mask and tempur pillow from home.

Why can't the fat just disappear everyday?
Feeling like this may be the longer than the 6 month pre-op wait some days! So, anyone watch Dr. Who? One of my favorite episodes:

Slimpressions Vs. Spanx Vs. Others
Those reviews would make me consider some of the pieces I have never tried from Slimpressions, and I agree price of shapewear is not an absolute bar as quality products tend to have a longer lifespan.

Slimpressions Vs. Spanx Vs. Others
Would love if you got a deal on spanx for site. Though I look forward to outgrowing/growing out of? The larger sizes. They are hard to find without going online. And even smaller I would buy spanx hosiery they last much longer. They also have an inexpensive Star line.

About to start Pureed foods....how do I fit in protein?
For my diet, my nut has me on Protein drinks (at least 2) along with my soft food diet. The liquid in Protein shake counts toward my fluids needed for the day. perhaps you should ask, but I would NEVER be able to get to protein goal without shakes on the "meals" I am eating.

Sleeve done
Good luck to all!

Eating more at night?
I kind of felt the same, but I think for me it is really because I am home with more options or not moving/doing as much as during day. Like it is definitely in my head. I have 2 Protein shakes and an

Keeping it a Secret?
I don't think you should feel bad about decision OR not wanting to share with anyone. You will find a variety of ways people have dealt with telling family http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/372775-telling-my-daughter/ or boss on this site. I have told very few but feel supported by those who know. If you do not have that someone, you may want to rely on therapist from your surgery team (if there is one) or one in another office to help. It sounds like you are moving forward in strong fashion from devastating circumstances. I am truly sorry for your loss. Best of luck and keep talking here!

One month post op
I was 6/21 and I eat total 6-7oz food for whole day plus shakes and Water. I can't imagine 8-12 oz and I have never thrown up. Had some foamy twice after eating too fast. I would be worried about throwing up.
