  1. Wow! Thanks for sharing congrats
  2. I am nova but work in Maryland. Had mine at fair oaks! It is good to see more from our area active on boards. Have any of you done support group meetings? My hospital is not in neighborhood so have not made monthly meetings though trying to!
  3. I just saw these advertised and it was just so hurtful!!!!! How can this just now be known to me after I spent two months ingesting such disgusting Vitamin options??? Now that I can swallow pills I discover a vitamin mint??? Ugh for all of you fortunate souls the most recent Sunday paper included a $4 coupon.
  4. Just so you know I had much more tightness and soreness on left side. My nurse told me that is one of the incisions that is manipulated more during surgery so it along with one near belly button where they pull out stomach hurt the most and take longer to heal. And it was noticeably different for about 2 weeks for me.
  5. Weigh almost daily measure monthly now.
  6. Thank you for sharing and inspiring!
  7. I bought that one from Amazon I think. I would say not not worth it. Only used like a day or two and could have done without. Save money for heating pad or extra nice pillow!
  8. Whether they sent you letter or not you can possibly appeal for coverage, especially if you were at a network facility.
  9. Get all documentation that you can. It doesn't sound right but you need the documents on the denial from company, anything you can get from doc on earlier approval and then follow their rules for the appeal. Maybe you can at least get all followup care covered.
  10. love sashimi tuna and salmon eat it whenever I can have been able to have since about week 4 post op
  11. Ice pack may be needed for some: chicken breast strips Deli meat hummus parmasean crisps baby bel or stringcheese cottage cheese broth or Soup w/protein powder applesauce
  12. My nut doesn't recommend patches or gummies. They said concern with patches and absorption. I would ask your team.
  13. I only had to do chewables for 8 weeks. I am beyond excited to say my two months of artificial chemical berry bile tasting hell are over!!! I am free no more gross chewables no more torture from the B50 capsules that tasted like earwax missed with kerosene. Free!!!! I am free!!!
  14. The daily recommended amounts or dietary Recs for a typical person do not apply to us. People don't normally lose 50% or so of their weight in one year or have absorption issues.
  15. I have not done applesauce. unjury is ok. I prefer Isopure unflavored but unjury unflavored was fine for me in broth. Still just prefer the chicken unjury. You might want to try a small amount of it in Water.
  16. I am just now allowed caffeine again at 8 wk post op. I can't really tolerate too much not stomach issue but gave me a bit of headache maybe. My nut is fine as long as tolerated and she said it can help "things move through system" in moderation. So that is a bonus! But have been off it for over 2 months which I would have though impossible.
  17. Knowing PD drugs I would suspect that sleeve is same issue not to mention other complications due to her disease progression. It would be very helpful for him to consult a nutritionist and PT for his wife as her lack of mobility could be helped with some physical therapy (as well as her pd symptoms). But nutritonist intervention is probably most needed as her diet seems a likely issue for concern -- also there are dietary issues that surround the PD drugs and disease that they may not be managing.
  18. @@APanda911 bring your shakes with you on vaca it worked for me! Good luck!
  19. I used to love the key lime flip. Maybe at maintenance i think it is just too many carbs. So far I have liked every flavor of the oikos triple zero and it has 15g protein so for small 2oz it is more than 5g of protein
  20. How did I miss someone pooping staples?
  21. Parmasean crisps! Try something new everyday. Good excuse to get a small sampler at a salad/prepared food bar! Even if by the pound you will not need to spend much!
  22. It is shocking how good it is ---esp in comparison to all others! I would never had thought I would welcome something that is like Lipton instant soup without noodles so much!
  23. I am 8 weeks out and I just order and eat what I can or take some to go. Not really been a big deal. It feels like it will be an issue before you get used to it. Once you do it just saying I am eating low carb and let them give you glass of water that you don't touch it is pretty much normal.
  24. Soma is its own brand with stores and online. I have found their quality to be kind of all over place like vs. they don't have a lot in larger sizes.
  25. Good luck!!!
