VSG and the Mirena really have nothing to do with each other nor will they make either one work less etc
-
I have FEP BCBS it tool exactly the whole waiting time. I called every day! It took fifteen days!

If you have Gerd in any capacity Roux En Y is the way to go. VSG is proven to worsen GERD!
Also I noted that you have diabetes in your discussion. Roux En Y would almost eliminate it. Due to the re-route of the intestines.
Trust your surgeon -
You would hate to get VSG only for your GERD to be exacerbated and have to revise to Roux En Y-
Hence increasing your risk for PE.
Good luck!

Mine is July 8, 2016 we are not far apart in our process. Kit!!Hi everyone. I have my very first appointment on June 27th for the seminar. I'm starting to feel kind of scared. Ever since I mentioned the bypass surgery it seems everyone has a death horror story to tell me. I am a type 2 diabetic, my weight is 307, and I have high blood pressure. My doctor told me this surgery would be great for me. Can people really die from this surgery? If so, why and from what?

My mother's response was... "your so vain, just get off your butt and exercise." Mind you I do 15,000 plus steps per day just at work as a nurse. I can completely relate. Do what feels right to you. Don't worry about what others say. My first appointment with the surgery center is on July 8th 2016. I'm doing this for me, and no one else!! Hugs

I always ask myself have I exhausted every Avenue to lose weight possible... I have. I think it's perfectly normal to question yourself about this surgery. This is life CHANGING!!! Which is so scary to those of us who have used food for comfort etc... your making the right decision... keep moving forward. What do you have to lose by getting the surgery? Nothing at all!!

I said this very same thing to myself the other day. After struggling for the last four years trying to get the weight off, only to lose some and gain 10 pounds more on top of what I lost.. I know how you feel. The end is near.. while my last nutrition appointment will be mid- September... my surgery should be scheduled with a couple of weeks after that. I am ready. Ready to live the life I have been dreaming about for four years!June 15th, 2016
=======================
It's about to begin, for real. I have three appts over the next week - nurse, dietitian, fitness evaluation. I am getting excited, but nervous. Ready, but wishing there was another way I could do this and be successful. But after being overweight/obese for 25+ years, I'm being realistic and accepting that I can't do this alone. Drastic changes are necessary, and those changes are starting this week!
EEK! This may be the last Summer I will live through as a morbidly obese woman!!!!! It's hard to imagine, but it's a very exciting prospect I cannot wait to see my body start to change

You look perfect. Trust us when we say that! I know it is hard to see what others see. We are our own worst critics. You've done a fantastic job. If you are experiencing anxiety please speak with a psychologist about it. Hugs

Congratulations on your journey! I am slightly obsessed too... lol I guess because really it's the start of something great! I don't know which one I want yet either.. still debating.I'm pre-op. I've met with Psych, Nut, each once. Had my EKG and EGD, about to do a Metabolic test on Tuesday. I need to complete one more Phych aptmt and 2 more Nut aptmt and complete a total of 6 months "physician assisted weight loss" which started beginning of May. Hoping for Lat Oct or Early November surgery date. Highest: 290. Current 280. Goal weight 150, though I'd be satisfied at 175. I'm 5'6. Leaning toward RNY, but still considering sleeve. No co-morbidities. I have a good support system and am researching the hell out of this. Kind of obsessed, maybe. Trying to soak EVERYTHING in. Other people's stories, books, doctors info, fitness trackers, food journals, etc... I'm a sponge right now.

Congratulations - which procedure did you undergo?Hi all, I'm about 12 hours out and so far everything has been great. No gas pains, just a little discomfort from the drain. I am not allowed to have any liquids until tomorrow morning. I was allowed to have a sponge with a little Water on it to rinse my mouth.

It is against the law for a provider to ask you personal medical questions and highly unprofessional. Good for you for not telling her!

Hi, new here... I am wanting to obtain the gastric sleeve. I was wondering if anyone had the same insurance as myself and lived in Missouri that has gone through the sleeve process, who they used, and would they recommend them again? Thank you so much in advance. Congratulations to all of those that have been successful undergoing this procedure. I hope it works for me!

So.. you have to take supplements for the rest of your life regardless of which surgery you choose. Unless you want all your hair and teeth to fall out. High chances of developing Ricketts Disease as well...
Take your Vitamins people!
