just got out from my fill and it was so easy thankyou for putting my mind at ease before going in I wasn't nervous at all. now filled up to 6cc with second appointment in about 3 wseeks

The needle doesn't hurt at all - abdominal skin is not very sensitive, I've come to learn! It's over quickly and yes, you drink Water to see how you feel.
The first couple fills I didn't notice anything when I drank the water but at my last fill I noticed the water sat at the top of my stomach and I felt the cold filter in slowly, like a funnel. It's safe to say I'm "green" now. I advise going in on an empty stomach to see how the cold water feels.

I get my first fill tomorrow. Hoping all goes well. I am nervous and curious as to what happens. Down 18lbs since surgery June 14th

It did not take my "head hunger" away....ever. But, if you reach a proper fill level, your physical hunger should diminish. I spend a lot of time talking myself out of eating unhealthy/slider foods and I've been in the "green zone" for 2+ years. It's still a battle, but I've got a sweet tool helping me with this fight. I love my band.

And, I was banded over 3 years ago and I still have 1-2 Protein shakes every day. To me, they are a simple way of getting extra Protein, I like them, and they satisfy me. I don't do well with a lot of meats and solid protein. I still eat too fast. That being said, I like the "tightness" of my band and haven't had a fill/adjustment in over a year.

@@DAWYFE & @Chez2812. Don't be nervous.... It's a piece of cake. It doesn't hurt at all. I've been having my band since November 2009. How does it feel? My doctor places a pillow under the back and that pushes the port up. He then feels for the port with his index and middle finger. Once he has a finger on either side he then inserts the needle. Checks to make sure he is in the port and inserts saline. Has me drink Water. That's it..... Done

Hi Dawfe, I have my fill in 2 days and I'm nervous also. not sure what to expect and what it feels like. congrats on being down 18 pounds, I haven't weighed myself for a fortnight but think I'm down about 14ish
please let me know how you go and what it feels like

I am 1 week post op and I weigh daily..I need to see the scale move to remind me why I did this. It also helps me stay on track (currently on liquid diet) knowing the scale is going down and quickly. Once I am at "normal" food I may go to weekly..but we will see.

Yes dear @DAWYFE - you can and WILL sleep on your side/tummy again!
I am a tummy-sleeper first, side-sleeper second.
The first couple of weeks post-surgical, I slept mostly on my back with pillows. After the healing really kicked in, I found myself able to sleep in my delicious old comfy positions with no discomfort at all. Yay!
At 75 pounds down, I now find myself settling in early for a good night's sleep on my tummy right away, with no discomfort or pressure on my back or spine. I roll over painlessly. :-)
I was only 2 weeks post-surgical when I returned to tummy sleeping (my favourite!)
Hope this gives you hope. You are doing great!!!

I am feeling pretty good. Just a little sore. Going to see doctor today for first check up!

heres mine me at my biggest of 425lbs, then a the full body was oct of 2013 and the head shot was new years eve

size 20 to size 6
reached goal weight at 7 mths
