  1. I wish I knew how hard it would be to drink enough. Sipping is SO hard. You should definitely practice sipping and chewing really well before surgery, because those are really hard to get used to.

I can't wait until the 26th of this month, so we can say we are a month post. I am not going to weigh again until then and take some after pics to see if I can SEE a difference. I know my clothes are looser and a couple people have already asked if I was losing, but I don't know if I can tell a difference yet physically.

Wheew. Its a lil wet feeling in the corner thats red but yayy no fever. Im hoping its just irritated. Thank u for your reply. My hubby is a fireman/medic and said the same thing lol. But i dont listen to him. I want to listen to u guys!!!! Haha. Im hopin irritated. The i cision is right where my shorts/pants go so it gets rubbed a bit. Ahhhhhh. THANKS! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App It looks to me like it got irritated, as you said, it is on your pants line. I would put some neosporin type cream on it and cover it while you have pants on or wear a dress or something that will not rub it.
  6. My surgeon does 2 weeks liquid, 2 weeks pureed, 2 weeks soft, then regular food. Of course they say no alcohol, popcorn, sweets, or carbs like bread, rice, Pasta, and I probably won't have have any of those for a while, mainly because I truly want to focus on protein being that I cannot eat very much.

I don't know what an average day is SUPPOSED to look like really, but what I try to do is one protein shake (30 g protein) and something else like a yogurt or a pureed dish (refried beans, eggs, yogurt) for about another 15 g of protein, and as much water (usually flavored) as I can stomach. I know that I am not up to my goals just yet but it is a work in progress.
  8. At 4 weeks out, you should definitely be getting more than 20 g of protein a day. A shake is 30, what are you eating? Remember you will lose more weight if you eat the protein and work out. Best of luck to you.
  9. It really isn't THAT hard. Don't let yourself overthink this. These are issues you are perfectly aware of, so plan ahead. Get a water bottle you like that holds about 30 oz. Carry it with you at all times. Make sure you go through 2 a day. Pick out protein sources you like and stock up. There are so many options. The hard part is remembering to eat throughout the day. I am on yogurt and chili (pureed) because it is 2 things I love. I will probably eat these 2 things all day til I tire of them and then move on to something else. A Protein shake (30 g), a yogurt (15 g) and chili (15 g) and you've got your protein for the day. Of course that is split up into 6 meals You will do fine!
  10. @@ChaCha77 - surprised you are back to work so quickly after surgery! I was planning on 2 weeks off, but perhaps I won't need so long off.Today was my first full day back and it was perfect. I am finally rested enough to come back full day strong. Tomorrow is a 12 hour day though, so I may have a different story tomorrow night lol Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App @@ChaCha77 - 12 hours! what do you do? that's a long day….how are you doing with fluids/food etc.?I work for a non profit, but tomorrow we have to work a normal day, then we have a fundraising event in the evening, so yeah, long day. Today, I had about 45 g of Protein and about 60 ounces of Water. Not quite where it needs to be, but it was my first day on purees and I think it will take a little practice Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

I had my 2 week follow up today. He said the average person loses 6-12 pounds in the first 2 weeks and I lost 13 (Don't be proud, I WAS puking the whole first week). I can start my pureed stage today and start my supplements and can start working out again (up to 25 pounds). Still not hitting my protein or my water goals, but today is a new day
  13. I never had a drain either, or a catheter, or a morphine pump. Every place is different.

I wouldn't say terrible, but I have had pain in my chest almost every time I swallow from the beginning. It is finally starting to ease up. I think it is the hernia repair that I am feeling. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
