Thank you! Just "googled" and found quite a few kept theirs on as well. I'll take polish off but hate to go sit and soak to take them off.

Surgery is in 3 days and paperwork says to remove all nail polish. I just got a new set and pedicure less than 2 weeks ago . I can and will take off my toenail polish but do I have to get my nails taken off?

Every doctor's guidelines may be different but the one I was given was at least 15g Protein and less than 5g of sugar per serving.

While I thought I had everything to together, I was hit with some forms to sign at my pre-op labs yesterday and one of those forms was consenting to robotic surgery....as in a robot performing my surgery.
This doesn't sit me with me well. I mean, are most of them done this way now?
My surgeon said this is going to be the new, new thing like laparoscopic is to open surgery. Crazy, right?

Hello!
I just passed the half way point on my pre-op. Surgery on the 15th!. Two things really help me. One is finding things (on program!) to add to the shakes/broth. Two of my favorites are vanillia unjury with punkin spice added; and unflavored Unjury mixed with heated skim milk and add cinnamon. Are you allowed decaffe coffee? Protein power with milk and Decaf coffee makes a kinda latte. I've also tried (with nut's blessing) the sugar free Torani syrups. I just keep experiementing and pretending that I get to "cook" my meals.
Only focus on today, if I think about how long I have to go I immediatly get hungry! I plan to spend this weekend cleaning, laundry, just staying busy to disctract myself! You CAN DO THIS!!!!!
Thank you! Yes I can have decaf phew! Mmmm I'll have to look into those Torani syrups.

I've seen those gladiator workouts going on at a local park and have been curious but too shy to try.
How far out from surgery are you?

And I'm so hungry . I have to do a 14 day liquid diet. The last day is Clear liquids only. How do y'all do this? I know some people are allowed actual solids on their pre op diet but my Dr's are real strict.
I'm not a big sweets person either so these Protein shakes are getting old fast. Right now sipping on low sodium broth.
Surgery is on the 21st and couldn't come fast enough. How are y'all doing?
This is a list of things allowed

I am using the Bariatric Advantage shakes. They are fine. I was surprised actually I was planning on them being really awful.
I would say that the tablet chew-able Vitamins from this brand are awful, horrible -- chalky and terrible flavor.
Darn, I was debating getting those chewable vitamins. Do you have any other recommendations?

I'd agree with Kristen, I don't think the extra Protein could be fouling you up. If you're doing full liquids with 3 Premier Protein shakes, that's a total of a mere 480 calories. Unless you have some other calorie source, I can't see how you couldn't be losing considering a Very Low Calorie Diet would be something like 800 calories.
I agree plus Slim Fast has too much sugar

I believe it's to shrink the liver so that Dr's can access what they need to easily.Wow! You ARE Lucky. I'm reading that others don't have to do it at all. How can there be such a difference? I thought there is a medical reason behind it.

Tonight I told my mom I was scheduled for surgery in 2 weeks. Her response, "you know you'll have hanging skin everywhere". I'd rather have hanging skin than tires of fat or a list of co-morbidities. I'm so sad she is not supportive.

Thank you. And thanks to everyone who responded with feedback without being a total jerk. I didn't get a definitive yes or no from my preop team just a "maybe" so I was coming on here to ask what other's experiences were.
