    Such a tease!

I started my journey on July 1st at 135.6kg. Lately the weight loss has slowed down and I've had a couple of stalls....but I'm SO close to being under 100kg and it's dragging out painfully slow!! I really thought today was the day and I jumped on the scales only to find I'm 100.0kg. I am really pleased with my progress, don't get me wrong, but the last 3 or 4kg is the slowest of anything so far and being under 100kg is a huge psychological hurdle for me. *sigh* Has anyone else had this??

    Changes after hair loss

Hot rollers rule! You can get some pretty awesome perms these days too. Not the old 80's spiral, but it would be worth talking to a stylist if it really gets to you.

Is it normal to stall after 2 weeks?

My surgeon told me to write myself a note and put it somewhere I'd see to remind myself that 2-3 weeks post-op the weight loss would stop. It's totally normal and just the body taking a moment to recalibrate after such a significant weight loss. It will kick in again soon. Just give your body a chance to sort itself out. It's all good.

Day 13- no weight loss in 3 days

Congrats on your achievement so far! My surgeon told me to write myself a note and put it somewhere I'd see it regularly that 2-3 weeks following surgery my weight loss would stop. He said it's the body taking a moment to sort of recalibrate itself after such a big loss so quickly. It's nothing worry about and totally normal. It will kick back into gear again soon.

Day two in hospital post op

I slept like a log the first two days. I was very groggy day one, I had to get the surgeon to tell me everything again on day two because I couldn't remember. Day two I felt good but just couldn't keep my eyes open! Lol. Luckily there was a TV in my room so my lovely husband had something to do while I slept.

Day two in hospital post op

Yes I'd taken a book to read and colouring in stuff (as you do) but have spent the majority of the time dozing with the TV quietly on in the background. have been discharged now, day three, and am headed home to heal. Thanks for the support guys! Xx

Any words of wisdom from you guys who have been through it or anyone else feeling the same? What are the first couple of days like? Thanks in advance.

    Sugery Date brought forward.

Yay for another kiwi! yes I'm on the pre op diet. I found yesterday hard too. I am finding the sugar withdrawal is really tricky to manage too. Wow...that's exciting! You're only a few days after me! That's awesome! It is exciting and scary at the same time!! Lol I can relate to the to the hungry brain and sugar withdrawl!! The sugar withdrawl is soooo hard!! However, we are on a road trip today and I needed some caffiene pick me up.... I purchased my 2nd fav soda (dr pepper) took one sip and it was gross!! ???????????? Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App Yeah, it's amazing how quick taste changes giving up sugar. I gave it up for a couple of months about a year ago and after the withdrawal and Craving stopped I was amazed at how much better I felt and how much more flavoursome everything was. Things I didn't think we're that sweet originally tasted sickly sweet. Unfortunately I let it creep back in and was soon back to my old sugary ways. It is soooo easy to do that too!! I have cut out sugar a few times and then slipped back into the sugar craving slopes. Which has brought me to gastric bypass surgery. :-) Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App Same here! I'm secretly hoping for dumping syndrome in a strange way to keep me away from the sugary things! Lol.

    Not losing

My surgeon told me to write myself a note and put it up somewhere to remind myself that a couple of weeks after surgery I will stop losing weight and plateau while my body takes stock of what's going on. He said everyone gets it and It's not because I've done anything wrong it's just that my body needs a chance to catch up with the changes. He said everyone worries but just to keep following the plan and the weight will quickly start shifting again. hope that helps!

    Anxious! How long?

I was given a surgery Date the day of my appointment on the condition I met all the pre surgical requirements. The date was six weeks after my initial appointment and has since been brought forward two weeks. Each practice will be different though.
