I'm feeling the same way! I'm waiting to be submitted to insurance I've completed all my requirements, now I'm nervous! I'm scared the insurance won't approve of me and my negative thoughts I think are trying to prepare me for the worst. I finished my 3 month diet today!!! So all my information has been faxed to my surgeon to be sent in for insurance approval!!! I am so excited and yet also terrified!!! Pretty much my worse nightmare this whole time would be my insurance denying me!! I meet all there criteria bmi over 40 and I am pre diabetic. All my bras are barely holding on by a string by I'm waiting on approval from insurance company. So I've not wanted to buy any clothes because I won't need them long! (Trying to keep up hope I'll be approved) my little sister (21 and the size of a string bean) always is like omg you need new bras and I'm like NO I'll buy bras when I'm smaller! Sheesh what a long hard journey this is!! I have a very good friend who had lap band and every single little thing I say gets compared to her story! For example today...I say I finish my 3 month pre op diet tomorrow, and I called my dr and it sounds like I still have a long road ahead of me, waiting for insurance approval, waiting for a dr appt, then preop diet and surgery date, she instantly fires back well I had a 6 month diet, and a 4 week pre op diet! It's just like sheesh let me vent just a second about how I am so ready for surgery! She constantly says snide comments about how I could never be a size 10 (I'm a size 22) or how I'll lose the weight and gain it all back that's why lap band is better! Ugh! Ya know?! This is my last two weeks before I submit to insurance before approval, it's been a long hard 3 month diet (hats off to everyone who has to do 6 month or more). I have pcos which makes it hard to lose weight, hence why I am having WLS. So I've been very strictly for 3 months sticking to my 90 carb and 100 grams of Protein diet I walk 2 miles atleast 5 days a week I attend a hour hip hop case once a week and Water cardio every Saturday. So today I go to put my jeans on and I can barely get them buttoned. In reality I know it's most likely the pcos preventing me from losing, I'm terrified that I will be unsuccessful even with surgery. Is it possible some people can't lose weight at all?! I had to have my pcp review my labs and history and sign a sheet saying he thought I was a candidate for surgery. My pcp was giving me hassle also, only wanting to make my diet appointments every other month, extending my 3 month diet by 2 extra months! So I looked into new pcp, switched to her and I have been much happier. This is my last month pre op diet then I submit to insurance! Best of luck To you! Hello All! I am the oldest of 4 girls and the only one that is obese, with my later onset of pcos and being undiagnosed I really piled the pounds on quickly! My youngest sister (21 probably a size 4-6) goes between living with me and my next sister down. She has really bad eating habits and it's easy for me to follow along. When I started this journey she had moved away, well yesterday she moved back and I had to drop the bomb that I would be having vsg and I feel like she instantly judged me and thought I was taking the easy way out. This is the first family member I have got a negative reaction from, and it freaked me out. Thank you so much for sharing with me! I crave carbs so bad, I wasn't diagnosed pcos at 24 when I gained 100 lbs during pregnancy. They've done everything for me, started me on metformin everyone kept on you lose so much weight, 3 months later I had gained 30 lbs. It amazes me how fast the weight can pile on with pcos.
