    Beans and cheese

I did it a few times. Refried beans sat really heavy in my stomach.

    MFP Journey

    From the album: My Progress

    Definitely not linear!

    Is Global Warning A Hoax!

Why did we dig this crusty old thread up? Looks like almost a decade had gone by. We are the parasites, and earth is the host. Global warming is either part of the natural ebb and flow, or the beginning of the end. Arguing is pointless. Just do your part, or don't. Death is inevitable...💥

    Average Weight Loss

I think the better you are at sticking the plan, and making it a long term lifestyle change, the more weight you will lose.

    Ppi

I am 9 months out, and I didn't fill my script for 3 days. By day two the heartburn was waking me up at night. I have never really had heartburn prior to this surgery.

    Let’s talk protein

Your best bet is soy, and other types of beans. Milk and cheese also have quite a bit of protein.

    Laziness, guilt, and dread

You will be able to eat, that is a wls myth. I enjoy a wide variety of foods, I am also not happy because I was not prepared for the realization that this was just a 6 month head start. My healing went too well. I wanted it to be hard, I wanted to be able to go all day without being hungry, I wanted to be disgusted by the sight of food, I wanted to be 9 month out and still only able to get 2oz. down. None of that happened for me, my long term success is now 100% related to my relationship with food. That is what we all need to focus on before, and during the honeymoon phase. Good luck on your surgery!

    Eggface's ricotta bake

I loved the ricotta bake, but the rest of the family didn't. My spin off is meatballs with marinara and mozza. Everybody loves it.

    Fighting Sugar Cravings

I eat an Oikos lemon meringue yougurt for my morning snack. Yummy! There are tons of different yogurt flavors out there.

    Inches vs pounds

Absolutely true! I have taken measurements and pics every month.

    Hair loss

My loss started at around 4 months, and tapered off at around 7 months. I think I've lost roughly half of my hair, and now I've got little inch long whispies all over the place. I don't have any patches, you can just see a little more scalp through the hair.
  12. Noodles taste like paste. I used to love getting Shanghai noodles. And french fries taste like cardboard.

    Popcorn

I have been experimenting with light Marg but it turns it to mush. I also air pop, maybe I will try some coconut oil... Microwaved popcorn tastes terrible now.
  14. I've lost one pound in four weeks. Not a great update for the second month in a row. I care, but I don't. I think I might be slightly depressed, I self soothe and check out with food at night. It's my coping mechanism, the only one I've known my entire life.

The sleeve has made me much more aware of the behavior I need to work on, but I just generally feel meh, at a time in my life where everything is going extremely well. I need something to look forward to, something to focus on, but I'm not interested in expending the energy. I am still doing alot of things right, I am just choosing an evening snack that is a slider.

I could be happy at this weight for the rest of my life, but I am absolutely terrified of gaining.

If you want your evening slider, then have it. But do pay attention to the portion size and keep that the same. The extra handful can become insidious!

    Popcorn

I am currently eating popcorn as a snack every night. I miss feeling full and I guess eating in general. I have stalled my weight loss for the past two months with my little nightly ritual. I could easily lose 10-20 more pounds if I laid off... Popcorn is a slippery slope. 😐

    afraid to fail

This surgery is a 6-12 month head start. You will still have to work on your "whys" but this is the best chance I've ever been given to get myself on the right track. I still fail. I turned down lunch from a fast food place, but bought a lillipop on the way home today. Every day we have to make the right choice, the sleeve just makes it easier.
  17. I feel like 300lbs. Should be the cut off for the sleeve. The bypass generally allows for more weight loss because of the malabsorption. But, I also know people on here at much higher weights who are rocking the sleeve. I guess it really depends on your desired goal weight...

You know you lost weight when

Same here, although I'm not skinny yet. I've been shopping in my closet until just recently, now everything is too loose. I bought new undies at La Senza the other day, and realized that it was an NSV at checkout. 🤗
  19. I would like to play devil's advocate here, and ask how many times you have emailed and/or called them with questions? Are you writing the questions down and asking your doctor during your scheduled appointments? I didn't have alot of back and forth with my surgeon no pre-op. I didn't even meet him until the day of surgery. I got most of my sleeve 101 right here on BP. I'm pretty sure most aftercare will involve a psych and a nut. Hopefully your psych and nut aren't in the same office... They could be a very busy office, or maybe a terribly run one. Either way, I think drafting a letter just puts a target on your back. They will like you less, and every interaction will now be more hostile, or forced politeness.

    Calories

500-600 calories a couple months post- op is good. I can't tell how far out you are though.

    Annoyed....

I am in the same headspace... Pressure to succeed, frustrated with where I am even though I've made great progress, trying to hurry so I can get plastics. I never wanted to be 135 lbs. But now that I think about it, why not get the DS as the second part of the surgery. See if I can go all the way to a normal weight. Have you considered a second surgery? I don't see many people post here about getting a second surgery until they have a large regain. Dr. Vuong just posted a video about treating regain and stalls aggressively.
  22. This is the one rule I've managed to stick 99% of the time. I think it does all of the above: it pushes food through, fills you up quickly, and might stretch out a pouch. I find that it helps me space out my eating, it has become a habit now.

    Scared.

It sounds like an ulcer or acid reflux. What about going to a walk in clinic?
  24. Ldyvenus

    Scared.

Are you on and acid blocker?
  25. I am my own worst enemy. I'm sure the stuff I think is 10 times worse than what people actually think about me in social situations. You get used to trying not to make waves or be noticed for your fatness. I don't think I will ever "feel" skinny.
