We have a revision clinic here in AB. If you don't have one there, maybe you can get referred to this one? I know people come from SK for their surgeries. -
Canadians having surgery in Mexico

I went to Dr. Joya in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. He did a great job. -

238 lbs. I don't look much different, but I have lost 3 inches in my waist. -
You are right on target. I stalled at exactly 2 weeks, I stayed off of the scale for 5 days and lost another 5 lbs.

I was very similar. I started with plain yogurt on day 5. I have eaten many different things with no problem. Wait until you try cottage cheese or refried Beans. You will find out exactly how much your tummy can hold, it is uncomfortable to eat even 1 bite more.

I love movie popcorn! I would skip a meal knowing what was waiting for me. Now I'm sad to hear it's a slider food. We hardly ever go to the movies anyways... But the one movie we always go to the theater for is Pirates of the Carribean. And of course there is a new one coming out this summer. I guess maybe I'll have to take a separate portion and not be shoving my hand into the big bag.

I'm a bad stick as well. Nothing grosses me out more than the feeling of someone moving a needle under my skin trying to hit the vein. Maybe ask them to use a butterfly on your hand. This always works best for me.

They have a peanut butter powder that can be added to things, it's called PB2. I got some at Costco, I really haven't tried anything with it yet. I haven't really looked for any good recipes. -
I had my surgery Jan 24th.

That's funny. I found raspberry a few days ago. It's my favorite so far.

I ate Wonton soup for lunch for 8 days straight. It is only 50 cal for 2 ounces with one cut up Wonton. So yummy!

I'm getting close to a month out. Ahhhh I miss diet coke. I have been trying a bunch of different Crystal Light flavors. I think some say yes, and some say no when it comes to fizzy drinks. But 9 days post op would probably be painful.

Go back and get your weight done with a few extra clothes layers, at the end of the day, a week before your period starts. ?

Diet Advancement. Question.
Ldyvenus replied to crivera's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I advanced every stage more quickly. I am already eating chicken. I figured protein from real food was probably better than drinking shakes all day. I tried potatoes once, and they were very heavy and uncomfortable. -
Food weight doesn't correlate to how much protein. You have to read the back of the package. You can keep a running tally in your head or use a my fitness pal app to track your numbers.

Medical Leave & Short Term Disability
Ldyvenus posted a topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hi all, I'm from Canada, and I'm going to Puerto Vallarta in October (VSG with Dr.Joya). I would like to take a month off and cover the first 2 weeks with PTO. I am planning on letting work know 30 days in advance, and filing STD paperwork after the surgery. I have coverage with Great West, and I'm wondering if anybody has had experience with GWL? Or with having a surgeon in Mexico? ????- 2 replies

Medical Leave & Short Term Disability

I just wanted to update this, incase somebody ever comes across it in a search. I brought my GWL paperwork with me to have it filled out. Dr. Joya also included a description of the surgery, pics of the surgery, and an itemized bill. My STD was approved for 4 weeks. I will also be submitting this paperwork for a partial refund from provincial healthcare. -
I haven't had any issues with gas while chewing gum.

Therapy after sleeve

It was always part of my plan. I just didn't know how intense the head hunger would be. I have had no issues so far. I am already eating solids. I had 1/2 chicken breast for lunch today. But from a lot of the experiences shared here, I thought the first month was going to be horrid. It wasn't, and I love junk food but I have stayed away.
