  1. I am 9 weeks post op. I gave up Protein Shakes after 4 weeks when I was allowed to, I'm not a huge milk drinker. I get all of my Protein with food. Typically I have 2 eggs for Breakfast with turkey sausage. If I don't have that then it's 3/4 of non-fat greek yogurt with 1/4 cup of nuts and 1/4 of berries. tuna with salad for lunch and some sort of protein with a vegetable for dinner. I'll have 1/4-1/2 cup of fruit after lunch. I'm not a big snacker but I'm fortunate that I can 4 ounces of protein typically so I don't need to snack. I usually come in at 650-750 a day.

  2. I am 6 weeks post op too and haven't had anything that's made me ill either. I did have a bout of nausea a few weeks ago but was told that was more related to hormonal changes. I also think it was connected to all the milk I was drinking with my shakes. I usually don't drink milk at all and my dairy intake pre op was quite small. Once I got out of the shakes phase I've been fine.

  3. Sugary drinks are NOT allowed. Who told you that? Some diluted juice is allowed assuming that it would be in VERY limited quantities. Please do not add honey agave sugar corn Syrup molasses or any other sweetner to your drinks or food. In fact you should have thrown all of those things away prior to surgery. Please throw them away now. Please also go throw away anything with more than 5 grams of sugar per serving. Please do not buy these things again. Then go out and get yourself some truvia or some organic stevia packets and have a nice day. If tea burns then stop drinking tea.

How are fake sugars any better than a small amount of honey? Your body has the same reaction to them.

  4. Hi, I also had surgery the same day. I just found this message board 2 days ago. My insurance company required 3-4 months pre-op with no specific weight loss required. I started off at 341 lbs and was 328 on the say of surgery. I am on clear liquids and 3 Protein shakes a day until next week. Then I go down to 2 Protein Shakes and soft foods for 1 meal for another 2 weeks.

My recovery has been pretty unremarkable which I am surprised and grateful for. My biggest issue right now is gas pains that happen at night. Luckily gas-x helps with that.
