sean72977 got a reaction from AnnaBanana.NZ in Nothing has made me sick
6 weeks post op (on July 5th) and nothing has made me sick yet...I'm on regular diet now and have tried most things and nothing has come back up. Is that weird or normal? I was fully expecting to puke!

sean72977 got a reaction from joannct1 in Beer
Thanks, dr. Advised against it due to carbonation. But I suspect they say that partially because drinking is not great for you. I am not near that point yet but I will probably have a couple socially. ..not often at all.....and see how I do. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

Weird? Normal??
With WLS nothing is "weird" --and really one person's "normal" could easily be another person's "weird".
You are indeed fortunate to have an "iron" sleeve.
It sounds like you are staying on track and following your plan without any derailments.
Good for you for doing a great job!
Best wishes for continued joyful journey, Friend.

sean72977 got a reaction from goosefam in Diarrhea?
I had that. My dr. Recommended a pro biotic pill called florostor. It worked well. There are cheaper store brand options. I still take them so I stay regular and to curb diarrhea from eating the wrong food. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

sean72977 reacted to cindyw41 in Transition to regular food
One thing that I learned is that your body has changed and things you used to eat may not taste as good as before or you can't handle it anymore.
During this time period when you're still trying to figure out what you can eat you may have to supplement with a Protein shake still.
We're all different but I'm 5 months out and can't eat more than 1 oz of meat in a meal. So for me to get in my Protein I have to supplement.

sean72977 reacted to NeedaBreak4Me in Transition to regular food
Hey....
The transition to solids seemed to be easiest for me.
I met my Protein goals daily by being creative with my food.
Basically i had the following:
Breakfast.. scrambled eggs and i would add salmon
Lunch/dinner ... i would have stewed meat, add Beans, then a dollop of greek yoghurt when served. Or a slow cooked casserole with veg.
Snacks consisted of cheese and sliced turkey deli meat.< /p>
In between meals i would concentrate on getting my Water in.
That seemed to work for me the best.
In relation to restriction... my sleeve seems a little more less restrictive as i have had the band in the past... so a virgin sleever would struggle more.
But, advice i can give is...plan your meals, keep your meat moist, small bites, chew well, measure out your portions and try to add extra Protein where you can. If you fall short.. add a Protein shake.

sean72977 got a reaction from KristenLe in Deciding the Band
My dr was very much against the band. He said he removes 2 a week because of complications. Also the band seemed like a lot of work....going in and having it inflated or deflated regularly. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
