Finally able to eat my favorite food!
The only thing that I wonder about is will I be able to have a high quality root beer when I go camping or bbq. This will wait until the maintenance phase.

A small black journal. I like that it is on paper and is staring me down.

Cheated on Pre-Op Diet
My family still hasn't figured this out. I promise not to tell them, but I'm crushed if Monopoly "bankers" really cheat. Honest, I never had a clue. Oh, oh, oh, no, no, no, do people cheat at "Clue?" Waa-a-a-a-a-a-h! This really hurts. "Uno" we do!

How long before the "honeymoon" is over?
How long does the honeymoon period last? I have been averaging about 3 pounds per week for a while now and I'm ecstatic for that. Approximately how long does it take before weight loss "normalizes"?

Easy perfect turkey
I have to post this. I love turkey. For a few years I tried the deep fried turkey and it turned out ok and I was glad to have the oven free. Then something changed. I checked my thermometer, I lowered my time, I tried different brands of oil and turkeys and they just turned out cruddy. One of my employees bought an Orion 101 cooker and I was intrigued. For $140 I bought one. It is essentially a charcoal fired outdoor convection oven. The food chamber never has combustion in it so there isn't anything odd to the flavor from charcoal or lighter Fluid. I add wood chips inside of the chamber so the turkey is smoked. The turkey also drips into a tray inside and the drippings steam back up to the meat. I do however have a problem. The birds come out so juicy that sometimes I've ripped the back right away from the turkey just lifting the darn bird out of the Orion. Unfortunately I was busy and I didn't take pictures of this year's turkeys so I will show you some previous. One of the best things about cooking a turkey this way is it is 5 minutes plus 7 minutes per pound and the time starts from the second you light it. A simple example, a 10 pound turkey would be 75 minutes. That is correct, an hour and 15 minutes!

Recipe ideas to make meat flavorful
As far as sauces go, I love Arizona Gunslinger Habanero sauce, Beaver sweet hot mustard, most Verde sauce, wasabi and soy. Hmmm I see a pattern here!

How soon after surgery can I have sex?
I should also mention that we are an extremely active and adventurous couple.

Recipe ideas to make meat flavorful
Spices! Experiment with them and see what you like. Also don't cook to well done! Cooking meat to safe temperatures and letting it stand for at least 15 minutes before you cut into it will produce a flavorful, moist piece of meat.

How soon after surgery can I have sex?
We fooled around on day 2. Day 5 was slow and easy. Day 9 was our usual wild and crazy! Listen to your surgeon and your body because your results may vary.

Feeling discouraged
That sounds like gas. Try this, while laying in bed roll from your left side to your back, wait about 30 seconds and roll to your right side and stay there for 30 seconds. Keep rotating every 30 seconds or so. I got rid of gas really quickly when I discovered this method.

6 days post op and screwed up bad...
Yep. You screwed up. Hopefully you didn't cause damage to your healing stomach. I hope the food was worth risking your life.

Kaiser Oregon - Not Covered?
Can I ask who your surgeon was in Mexico? I am researching now for surgery.Sent from my XT1055 using the BariatricPal App Can I ask who your surgeon was in Mexico? I am researching now for surgery.Sent from my XT1055 using the BariatricPal App I'm interested to know who the doctor is as well. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Absolutely! My surgeon was Mauricio Gutierez at Trinity Medical. There is a coordinator in Grants Pass that I went through. I didn't care for the main coordinator. If you want the Coordinators information just send me a message.

Kaiser Oregon - Not Covered?
Call the bariatric facility of your choice and have them verify your insurance coverage. They will be able to use the appropriate billing codes to determine coverage. We do that all of the time in the oxygen industry. Back in 2000 my sister had gastric bypass and in 2001 my mom had gastric bypass in Coos Bay. I had VSG 12 weeks ago in Mexico. I wasn't concerned about follow up care. I researched the crap out of my surgeon and found that he had a zero complication rate. I couldn't find anyone here like that. I also met 5 other people here locally that have been to him. Three of the five are in the medical field all they all said the it was the absolute cleanest facility that they have ever been in. I am in Southern Oregon.

Meeting someone new before surgery
Just a word of caution. The hormone dumping out of the fat can be difficult to deal with. Before committing to something, think about it. If you get mad think about the consequences. If you're extremely happy, make sure that it is real. Either way good luck!

Confused about the pains!
This is pretty simple. Expect the worst and be pleasantly surprised if it is better.

NSV's that no one talks about?
Absolutely!

Still Shrinking!
Everyday is a honeymoon for me! Oh, wait, you are talking about weight loss. Those nsv's honestly mean more to me than the scale.
