Go Pro Camera - does anyone have one etc.?

I have a go pro 4 black. It is the one that will shoot 4k video. It is a great video camera but I have 5 64gb memory cards and 6 batteries to get me through a day of vacation. It will also do.still photos but because the angle is so wide you will have problems with straight lines being curved. Some examples below. I kept the horizon straight but the parking lot and barriers in front of me are straight as well. The horizon is curved in this one. this was also shot with the go pro and I figured out the perfect angle to avoid any curves other than my wife's. This is why I bought it though, this is a screen capture from me swimming in the Pacific Ocean with dolphins.

    Back in my boat!

Mine isn't proper. She's ancient and but I love her. Her name is Princess Otter and we have been so many places together I can't let go. Kayaking is awesome- there is something very therapeutic about bobbing around, watching the world float by. I'm pretty sure these guys were laughing at me doing absolutely nothing in their backyard. ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1466128160.068513.jpg Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App It's all good so long as I can tote a Glock to deal with the local gators & snakes. I had a Sig Sauer 229 fail on me with a grain of sand caught in the slide. I NEEDED that gun to work and it didn't. I haven't carried a semi auto for personal defense since that day. I now carry a Ruger LCRX in the .38 special +p variety. It is just over a pound loaded with 5 rounds. I don't need 10+ rounds.

Guys, I don't like bacon anymore!

Yes, please save the animals for the rest of us carnivores.

What are you looking forward to?

To once again not being afraid of anything with 4 legs, I'm not talking about animals, I'm taking about these plastic reminders of my weight.

Dr KindaFamiliar will be available to answer your questions...

Dr K. Why is that I feel the need to ask you questions while sitting on a toilet? CHM. Somewhere along the line I have missed your boobs but I'm going to respond for most men. When the conversation turns to boobies we have no desire to continue intelligent conversation. Boobs is the start and the end of a conversation the rest is just foreplay.

Guys, I don't like bacon anymore!

Spaghetti sandwich? There is someone else who used to do that besides me? Spaghetti, home made spicy sausage and mushroom sauce that had reduced all day on a simmer, miracle whip and a slice of havarti on soft white bread. It's no wonder that I gained weight...

    Options for my smoker?

I love, love, love my smoker! I smoked pork butts and chicken quite a bit. At Thanksgiving I always smoke a couple of turkeys for all of the people that we have over here. All of the rubs that I use are made by me. I don't use hardly any salt and when I do it is Kosher salt. I do however sometimes use brown sugar. I am looking for appropriate alternatives for cream cheese, meat rubs and bacon wrapping. Does anybody have any thoughts? Some examples; Brisket Bacon wrapped chicken thighs with mushroom, onion, garlic and parsley stuffing. St Louis ribs Pork butt Atomic buffalo turds (jalapeño, cream cheese, shredded smoked pork and bacon.

    Options for my smoker?

This is the smoker. You have to watch your temperature on the meats that you are cooking. For example I usually do pork butt 160 degrees but brisket is 200 degrees. I always smoke at 225 degrees of smoker temperature. Obviously it takes longer to get hotter as well as with a larger piece of meat. I also use a wireless thermometer. You can see the probe and several of those pictures. I leave it in full-time and monitor it from the comfort of my sofa. You have to keep adding soaked wood chips every half hour to 45 minutes for the first half of the cook at a minimum. Some items like my brisket I pull and 160 degrees and wrap and heavy aluminum foil and then return it to the smoker to continue cooking to its ideal temperature. This creates more moisture than what you would have otherwise. http://m.homedepot.com/p/Masterbuilt-30-in-2-Door-Propane-Gas-Smoker-20051311/203495099

    Options for my smoker?

I use propane. I'm a caveman at heart and I believe that man was meant to cook with flame. Nothing against the electric just my preference. Mine is the one commonly available at home Depot for about $180ish.

Starting to wear my old clothing again.

When I was in my early 20's and I rode motorcycles a lot, I had a black 2xl button up shirt that had blue, silver and white flames running from the bottom up. When that shirt died I bought a similar 2xl with traditional colored flames and it didn't fit. That was 15 years ago and I always said that I would wear it. It isn't my style now but as soon as it fits I'm going to wear that sucker non stop!

    Options for my smoker?

I've never done fish for some reason. We are going on a bottom fishing trip in July and I do plan on smoking a fair portion of our catch. We can keep 7 rock fish and 2 Ling Cod per person. There will be 3 of us. Unfortunately we will be about 10 days too late for crabbing. Pardon the fat man port but this is one of my turkeys.

What Are Some Things You Can't Wait for POST OP?

Ride my bicycle to work. It is only 5.2 miles one way but it really is uphill both ways. Downhill to the river, uphill to the office. Downhill to the river, uphill home. As crazy as it sounds, I've always wanted to do a one handed push up and do a push up so fast that I can clap before putting my hands back down.
  16. I'm pre surgery but I have to say that my wife majored in psychology with a large portion of the major being dedicated to abnormal sexualality. I swear that I'm a thesis paper in the making. We are quite passionate and sex is amazing. If it gets better than this I don't know if I will be able to walk again!

Things we dont have to worry about anymore!

I have a 27" inseam. I've been building a truck for me to use as my daily driver. For me to sit comfortably and push my foot all of the way to the floor on the clutch pedal I was going to have to shorten the steering column because my stomach would rub the steering wheel. By the time it will be running I won't have to worry about it!

The warning signs were all there...i was so stupid

The best thing that ever happened to me was not marrying my first fiance. Her maturity level kept dropping and dropping and dropping. Finally I caught her cheating on me. I kicked her ass out and never looked back. I have been with my wife now since 2008 and I couldn't be happier! Get over this dirt bag and go find somebody that treats you like you deserve to be treated.

Doing Something for the First Time

I just saw your before and after pictures in your profile. You have nothing to worry about!
  22. Naw, bro. I had my back scratcher show up in time to drive me home. The absolute best thing I took with me into the hospital was a sense of humor. There were some funny moments that stay. First off......you'd think in the bariatric ward of the hospital one could expect some larger gowns for the patients. Nope. All us fat folks were shuffling around with our arses hanging out the back. Just want I wanted to see and show as I was making my laps. I got 'em back, though............I turned my gown around and rocked it backwards. Damn rite. Those pain meds & the open fronted breezy gowns had a weird effect, too...... Woodrow Wilson marched on proudly ahead of me on my laps. I like your style! I was thinking the same thing before I got to the Woodrow Wilson comment.

    Is your surgery a secret?

Told people I'm having surgery? Yes. Told them the whole truth about it? Hell no! I've told them that my body over produces ghrelin the hormone in the stomach which creates hunger. That part is 100% true. I have blood work backing that statement up. I explained that the surgery that I will be doing will lower the production of the hormone. I will have to go on to a different diet that will be easier on my stomach to digest. All of that is true. Nobody needs to know the whole dang truth though! Too many haters.

    Why I'm here

The anxiety sucks for sure! I'm certainly not turning back and I research the crap out of most everything that I do. I'm not going to deny that I'm a bit stressed financially as well. It has been a roller coaster year here financially. We finally had all of my wife's medical expenses paid off in December and we only had one bill other than the house and typical electric, phone, etc. We finally bought the start of a project truck for my wife when February hit with the news of her tumor. I pushed back surgery that I was planning for the first part of April. I figured out a way to pay for almost everything without going too crazy into debt. I put a deposit down to reserve my surgery date and the air conditioner died in my vehicle. Not a huge deal to me but because of my wife's rheumatoid arthritis and lupus I need to keep her relatively temperature controlled. I ordered all the parts to fix it and then the air conditioner in the house took a dive! Gee another $5500. I sold the truck that I had been driving to pay for everything that I could but I'm still short a little bit to pay for the rest of the surgery. Not quite sure how I'm going to make the rest so yeah I'm a little stressed at the moment financially. Nothing like adding to the anxiety huh?
