  3. I know the sleeve is done laparoscopically. I was told that I have to have bypass due to Barrettes esophagus. I would like to know if gastric bypass is also done laparoscopically or do they cut you open and if so where do they cut? Sent from my LG-H901 using the BariatricPal App
  4. I'm curious. Is stomach inflamation par for the course? During my endoscopy they found inflamation in my stomach. They took biopsies but that was many weeks ago. I'm sure if it was anything serious or requiring meds that I would have heard something. Has anyone had any experience with this? Sent from my LG-H901 using the BariatricPal App

  7. I'm curious if everyone needed to be nicotine-free or nicotine free for a period of time. In other words if you could pass the test and prove that you weren't smoking was that enough or did you have to be able to be without your cigarettes for 3 months at a time in order for them to do the surgery? Smoking

Not really trying to fudge the screening process. Just trying to determine a deadline for myself. I understand that nicotine is out of your system in approx. a week and cotinine can take up to a month depending on fat saturation. I was just curious which one they tested for. Smoking

I'm curious if anyone has been tested before surgery. Did they just test for nicotine? Or did they test for cotinine? Cotinine stays in your system longer than nicotine. I'm having such a hard time quiting. Sent from my LG-H901 using the BariatricPal App

  14. I read a lot wear post-op veterans have listed there daily menu of what they eat. I understand that you still need to eat healthy afterwards and to keep getting your Protein and keep your caloric intake to a limit what does that mean you can never ever ever eat anything that you used to eat before. For instance even a piece of a taco or a piece of a carne asada burrito? Sent from my LG-H901 using the BariatricPal App
