Just be calm. I went and got a massage the day before my surgery. It brought me to a good place in my mind. It will be over before you know it. Good luck. PS. I am 4 weeks out and it is absolutely the best thing I have ever done for myself.

My 4 week appt was yesterday and I am down 32 pounds. Yay to both of us. I also get to move on to tuna and chicken in the can. I am so excited. I am still not able to eat more than 2 spoons of anything tho. Getting most of my needed nutrients from shakes still.

I am 22 days post op and today was the first day I went out and help feed our cows. We have an old farm truck and the seat doesn't move but it has always been fine for me. Well I get in and boom.. I can't see over the dash..I automatically get upset because someone obviously has messed with it. It took me awhile to realize..no one adjusted it...my behind just got smaller and I was no longer sitting on my self made pillow. My husband and I had a good chuckle over this.

I brought my phone charger, gas x and a spare pair of undies. Glad I listened everyone who said you won't need much. I spent 2 nights.

My surgery was postponed until the 22nd. Today is post op 1 week and I feel great. I did have a hiatal hernia repaired. I am struggling to get the required amount of Fluid in but everyday gets better. I am on stage one until the 4th and can't wait to be able to taste something else. How about you?

I took mine for 2 days after surgery then quit. I did take a muscle relaxer for about a week after at bedtime

I am doing great. Had to spend an extra night I'm the hospital because my heart rate was high. I live 3 hours away so better to be safe than sorry. Big winter storm coming so I want to get home before that. So far only clear liquid not having any issues with drinking. Bad bad dry mouth and I am using biotene. Only helps for few minutes.

Today is the last day of my 2 wk preop Optifast liquid diet. Surgery tomorrow. It was fairly easy but I am really glad that I cut out caffeine a couple of weeks before. Keep busy and drink lots of Water.

Good luck to you. It is a good thing they don't wait to do the psych eval on the day before the surgery because I am pretty sure I would not pass with all the ups and downs of emotions.

My surgery was scheduled for the 19th. I started my preop liquid diet the 9th. Yesterday the surgeon (yes the surgeon himself actually called me) and told me we have to reschedule for the 22nd. We live 3 hours away from the surgery center and already made reservations, took the pets to a boarding place, took vacations, rearranged everyone's Christmas plans. I know it is a small bump in this long process and it will happen but just disappointed. Add 20 below zero temps outside, vehicles won't start, frozen Water to the mix..thanks for letting me vent...

My surgery date is also the 19th. I am not nervous...just anxious. Today I start my preop diet and already woke up with a headache. Yikes!

My preop liquid diet starts Dec 9th and I cut caffeine (coffee addict here) out 4 days ago. It was horrible but now it is getting a little better and hopefully the 10 day liquid diet won't be so foggy for me.

Mine is also on the 19th but not until 1230PM. But I am so excited to get a date that the time doesn't even matter.

Both of my denied letter stated that I didn't have enough evidence of weight loss history. I had 6 months of food logs, dietician notes, etc. We also submitted notes from my PCP for the last 4 years. My surgeons office called them after the 2nd letter and I was approved within 24 hours after that. I had given up and looking at Mexico. Yikes

After being denied twice I finally won my appeal. Surgery date is Dec 19th.

I have finished all my insurance requirements and testing but my hemoglobin is high (18) and will have to figure that out before they will submit to insurance. Has anyone else had this problem?
