  1. I had to follow a 6 week diet plan set by my surgeon. First week was liquid, followed by two weeks Puree, two weeks semi solid then regular consistency foods.. No eggs till after eight weeks. But lots of Protein, Beans and spinach lol chicken breast and I love eggplant I use it when I want Pasta or pizza I just use that instead, as the crust or the Pasta substitute. Love bananas with lactate milk became lactose intolerant... Or Peanut Butter and banana.

  2. I had my surgery on June 7,2016 day of surgery weight was 235 starting weight was 252, today I'm at 196 and went from a size 20 to a size 13 !! I'm so excited , I have a lot more energy now, I haven't been in this size since I was 18. I still have ways to go to get to my goal weight, but I'm happy with how far I have come. It's been tough, but worth it.post-292516-14720624221408_thumb.jpg post-292516-14720625004647_thumb.jpg

  3. Everyone's active levels are different not everyone runs and is as active as they should be to eat 7 times a day. I was told by my nutritionist and surgeon that you shouldn't snack. I got my surgery on June 7th of this year and I'm down 35 pounds since then, and 52 since March. I only stated what worked for me and what my surgeon suggested in my plan. Every persons body is different and what works for one may not work for another.

  4. Hey guys, I've been stuck at the same weight for almost 2 months now. This is extra frustrating because I'm almost 4 months out. My doctor has me on a plant based dietary plan and I've tried upping my caloric intake & lowering it. Nothing seems to change. I do hot yoga 6 days a week for an hour and a half.

    Any tips?

  5. Oh my goodness.... I'm 17 days post op and this morning I woke up choking because of acid reflex. It was so bad! I couldn't breath. Scared me! I took some Pepcid I was prescribed not realizing I was supposed to have been taking this all along twice a day to prevent this from happening! Let me just say.... Lesson learned! It's scary to wake up choking from acid in your esophagus!! Any tips on how to get rid of this fast should it happen again? Would appreciate feedback from post op patients that have experienced this journey. Thank you

  6. So it's a week and a day since my surgery. I'm feeling pretty good. Since This journey started back in March I'm down 30 pounds!! Tomorrow is my first post op appointment and I can't wait for my weigh in. I do have a difficult time getting in 32oz of liquid a day so not quite at 64oz where I'm supposed to be. But not feeling sick. I have however had some back pain in my flanks so my kidneys may not liking this. Pain isn't an issue yesterday I did take some medicine for pain in my back, but I'm actually doing pretty good without.

But it passed now it's soreness, I was wondering how many of you feel extremely tight on the right abdomen when trying to move, sit, stand up or bend?? Like to were it almost feels like if you don't support your stomach it's going to pop open?? Cause I'm having this issue right now and it's pretty pain full and scary! Any suggestions? I have 5 incisions from having the VSG done.

  8. I started this journey back in March at 252 pounds and was given a goal weight of 238 pounds. I had my surgery yesterday after hitting my goal weight back in May and yesterday I weighed in at 235 pounds. Let me just say that the first twelve hours after surgery make you regret getting it, I was in so much pain I thought I was going to die!! But then I started walking and using my gasX strips and it helped so much! Today I'll be getting discharged and I'm afraid of getting dehydrated because at home I won't have my IV keeping me hydrated, so wish me luck!! Lol I got so sick after my surgery with vomiting and pain that I felt like I was having a heart attack or something... Gas is a killer let me tell you !! But today I get in and out of bed walk the halls and go to the restroom alone, I'm able to drink broth and Water still nothing sweet but I'm sure eventually I will. post-292516-14654164516062_thumb.jpg

  9. Walk walk walk is all I would hear the doctors and nurses say when mom had her surgery it helps move the gases out and relieves the gas pain, swelling is Water retention as well and that's why your weight is more than what it was before, give it some time and stick to your diet you'll be fine. Wish you a speedy recovery
